Adjustable Jeep Crossbar

I just installed this on my 2003 TJ with 4" lift. Fits perfectly. Easy to adjust, excellent meat quality. I effortlessly centered the rear axles. Although it comes with clear laminated instructions, anyone can install it without reading them. Very easy work, keep it up. As easy as Lincoln Logs.

Complex installation - works well and is easy to set up.

This is a solid product that is very easy to set up once installed. I've been struggling with a T55 bolt on the axle side for some time. Finally the air bored it out, freed it, cleaned it and applied an anti-seize compound before reassembling. The frame side bolt was cut and replaced. A replacement is available from the dealer for $7. I just used class 8 and it works fine.

  • Decent performance

Anyway Jeep TJ Rear Adjustable Brace

that was fitted to a '99 Jeep TJ with a 2.5 inch spacer. No problems installing the front brace and it doesn't fit snug enough. Had to cut the rods and connecting sleeve to center the axle. Seemed gross in comparison, especially the clumsy snap rings. Has minimal instructions and you will need to use new connecting bolts.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Didn't know what to expect

It wasn't entirely clear how to center the axle. I tried looking at it while measuring my old one, but after putting it on I kept hearing a clink. I took it to a reputable repair shop who said my jeep tj's rear axle was off about an inch. After they centered it I can still hear the clinking, but not as much. Not sure what to expect but it was heavier than the bar even with the adjustable part. I also bought a Jeep with an existing lift kit and through research got a rough estimate of how high…

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • So far so good

Best quality, no exceptions, but first check the fit, then order.

Although it has too much flex to fit in the pockets of my 97 TJ, the build quality is sturdy and the adjuster is as easy to adjust as my forearm. It will definitely be the last thing you will ever need to replace. I want it to work for my (1st) model year, but the axle bag angle and offset between this bag and the frame bag was inconsistent. I suppose it works fine for other jeeps. I would recommend requesting a size chart from Rough Country before ordering. I'm sure they have more detailed…

  • Dope 🔥
