Not for TJ 97 on External Accessories

Be careful when buying. They are not designed to fit the hood of the 1997 Wrangler TJ. They have a pair of edges that come into contact with the hood when closed and installed according to the instructions, so they scratch the hood badly when driving. I ended up using the silicone spacers used in construction so they wouldn't scratch my hood. There are better alternatives to them that are basically the same but without the edges that could damage your car.

Pros
  • Not cheap but neat
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Good option to replace the stock hood latch

Purchased to replace the stock hood latch on my 2005 Jeep TJ. There were no instructions in the box, but after a quick search on YouTube it was a no-brainer. Installation was pretty easy, two sockets and the little wrenches that came with the kit, 30 minutes of work and you're done. I had to adjust them a bit after installation as the floor/fender mount rubbed against the hood when closing, but other than that it's pretty easy. They look and feel strong. Costs money.

  • Positive only
Cons
  • Annoying

Bad design for TJ! Avoid!

I don't know how they get such good reviews. When snapping the "ears" at the top of the latch EXERCISE ON THE HOOD! What do you think this will do to your beautiful beautiful color?! Yes. scratch the hell out of it and back. They look fantastic, at least that's what I give them and that's why I gave them 2 stars. It really has to do with the fact that I now have $73 fasteners that are going to ruin my hood. breathtaking. My kit had extra washers/eyelets so I even doubled them up to try and…

Great hood locks, great fit and style.

Received these TJ bonnet latches late last night. After unpacking, they made a very robust and well-made impression. Installed it this morning. Installation was very easy if you're a bit mechanically inclined, and if you own a Jeep you should be. Due to my custom fenders, the installation took a little longer. However, they were done within 20 minutes. My overall impression is that they are very well built and give you all the adjustments you need for a perfect fit. They hold the hood tight…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

It doesn't work for TJ!

I'm amazed Revain would let you sell this crap. Upon receipt the parts did not match the car, no instructions, rubber washers did not match the parts etc. So I looked back at my purchase and see that the basic description fits my 2006 TJ. Scrolling down to the bottom section will bring up images of a different/newer jeep. Serious?! Time I spent last night unfurling it, queuing where things need to go and then time this morning fitting it to the car. Then browse the site again. Write a review…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No weapon
