Good first impression

I bought one each for the fridge and freezer. My choice was based on reading many reviews about this and other models. My conclusion was that this was the best made and most accurate. I guessed that both registered the same temperature right out of the box. That tells me they're probably accurate. I've noticed the one in the fridge goes down quickly with the door open, so it seems delicate. If you want accurate readings for your fridge, place it somewhere at eye level so you can see the…

Inaccurate so not very useful

I bought two of these, one for the fridge and one for the freezer. At a room temperature of 75 degrees, one measures 75 degrees, the other 78 degrees. Unfortunately, there is no way to customize. Since the safe range for the fridge is around 6 degrees (34-40) according to this thermometer, I put the most accurate in the fridge. The safe range for the freezer is 20 degrees (0-20 below zero according to this thermometer) so I put the less accurate one in the freezer knowing it had to read less…

Works great, good price.

I ordered two of these thermometers to test the new top freezer I ordered. The refrigerator is assembled in the garage. Low winter temperatures in the garage can sometimes cause the fridge to not work efficiently enough. This can result in a cold fridge, but the freezer isn't cold enough. To fix the cold environment, I ordered a refrigerator for the garage. A garage-ready fridge essentially allows the freezer to keep working in cooler ambient temperatures. Anyway, I ordered two of these…

Paid in 1 month

Bought on a whim during an offer. Works well and durable; Large dial is easy to read. After receiving it and putting it in the fridge, I kind of wondered why I bought it in the first place. When my wife asked "why did you buy that?" I didn't have a really good answer. Fast forward a month later. I went to the fridge to get some water before bed. On the thermometer I noticed that the needle had risen from its usual position in the middle of the red SAFE zone. That was my first clue that…

Ideal for fridge monitoring

Bought two of these to monitor a fridge (one for the freezer and one for the fridge). After replacing the evaporator fan on a 23 year old hot tub, I bought these to get my temperature settings right. Controls: AD for freezer and 1-5 for fridge. No digital control. The evaporator fan failed for weeks and the freezer coil froze. Eventually my wife found the milk too warm and I took a closer look. After the repair, I decided I needed them for proper temperature control. I started by placing both…

Fairly accurate well made budget thermometer with caveats

There are two factors to consider when purchasing a fridge/freezer thermometer: temperature accuracy (performance) and design (construction). Performance is measured to 2 degrees Fahrenheit, but it has some design limitations that make it difficult to install or prominently place the unit in many fridges or freezers without wire shelving. Ideally, all fridges should have built-in and accurate thermometers - one for the freezer and one for the fridge. Unfortunately, unless you are spending…
