My Rubbermaid shelves fell off and these brackets literally broke in the middle. Now I'm installing these out of metal and they're a game changer. They seriously hold up MUCH better. I would also recommend drilling them into studs. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches and frustrations in the future. I wouldn't highly recommend avoiding these clips (unless you really enjoy clipping your shelves over and over again). You are useless. They came to my house with shelves and when my first shelf broke down I went out and bought the same ones thinking I might have overloaded the shelf and replaced them. I agree with the previous reviewer: They are useless. The instructions say to install a support every 36 inches. I put a brace on each stud which would have been overkill. Six months later, my shelf fell over with a bang in the middle of the night. All clips are broken in half.
