I received this cleverly designed cleaver just a few short weeks ago and have been delighted with my purchase. For despite its rough veneer it is quite the refined little carver. Last weekend we hosted a wine and cheese party and it made short work of my wife's pate. The next day she had it in the kitchen icing a chocolate cake. Later that evening I even used the spine to break up a bag of boutique ice shaped in the form of top hats. It is nothing if not versatile. If you fancy yourself a…

Pros
  • Esee. Enough said. 5 star! However I would like the blade to be a hair longer.
Cons
  • Overpriced for a cleaver knife

I've been using this for some time now, primarily for chopping meat, and to that extent it is fantastic. As the coating is essentially and etch and not the standard powder coat of other ESEE knives it can stain food. Not an issue for general food prep but some people may questions why it happens.

Pros
  • Finish: Tumbled Black Oxide, Handle: Black G10
Cons
  • Some users may find the cleaver design awkward to use

JUST BOUGHT PLEASE READ

Honestly I am so AMPED to finally have bought this for myself! I've kept it in my cart easily over a year now, and now that I have it i'm already in love. The blade is thick, straight, sharp, and beautiful. The sheath is also a strong thick leather. It came with 3 stickers, (which I think is awesome i'll represent!) 2 survival cards, a really cool coin, and a sliver of the cutout of idaho from my knife! I really thought I was only getting the cleaver so getting the extras was really cool to me!

Pros
  • Tough.Rugged.Nice weight.Very good edge retention and a transferable lifetime warranty.
Cons
  • Blade is too thick for delicate tasks

Greatest Sammich Splitter on the Planet

I was born a poor.nevermind wrong thought. This thing is a beast! The moment it arrived, I was smitten. Unboxing was a little iffy, as it came packaged like my wife's last three packages, wasn't sure it was mine? Once I overcame the initial fear of seeing a "personal massager", everything was better. To begin, it came with several bandaids, one or two large enough to cover a goodly portion of a human hand, and a neat little "survival card"(which btw, says NOTHING about how to…

Pros
  • Leather Sheath Included
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in a professional kitchen setting

Facebook refused to let us put an ad up with this beast hacking up alligators and large anaconda snakes for food in the jungles of Peru during our recent jungle survival trip, so we thought we'd just tell everyone here that it does a very good job at those tasks.

Pros
  • Very nice cleaver
Cons
  • Handle is uncomfortable to grip for long periods of time

LARPing Is Awesome. Cleavers are Elfing Amazing

So, first of all I have to say I had a great weekend. I received this knife on Monday, but as soon as I pulled this BeastSlayer out of its package, it immediately turned into Friday afternoon. I went to my friend DragonBane's house (his real name is Doug) where we drank non-alcoholic mead and took turns insulting eachother in various odd languages (dwarfish, elfish, Canadian). We left DragonBane's and stoppped at Dorkamir's house (his name is actually Troy and he lives in a pimped-out shed in…

Pros
  • Versatility: This cleaver knife is suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Its sharp blade and comfortable grip make it easy to use in any situation
Cons
  • May take longer to sharpen than other knives

It knocked up my wife, but it cuts good.

I purchased this product from another site, but stumbled across Revain having it for a good price so I'll write my review here. First off, this cleaver is a beast of a blade. It's good for all tasks involving the outdoors and cook that doesn't require a point on your blade. It was initially very difficult to get use to though, as I opened the package and the sight of the cleaver knocked up my wife and made me grow a beard. Sometimes I can hear my wife giggling in our kitchen all the way from my

Pros
  • Meat Cleavers
Cons
  • Limited versatility

This is a great tool. I just can't figure out WTF to .

This is a great tool. I just can't figure out WTF to use it for. I'm fresh out of people who need their head split open, my dog has already killed all the neighborhood chickens, and it's not deer season yet.

Pros
  • Chops like a champ. Another impressive piece.
Cons
  • Not practical for everyday use

I purchased this for my husbands birthday but I kept it.

I can't believe how bad ass this thing is. Finally a product that makes women feel powerful and primitive, like being the king and queen of a double wide trailer. I used all the money we had been saving for our sons toe transplant to buy this ESEE Cleaver for my husbands birthday but after receiving it I can't let it go. I haven't even told him. (Don't worry I did give him one of my unopened personal massagers.) This Cleaver cuts through everything with ease and makes buttering bread so much…

Pros
  • Cleavers
Cons
  • May require frequent lubrication to prevent rusting

Don’t hesitate! on my review.

I don’t normally write reviews minutes after opening a box. However this is really a good looking cleaver, a real "Mans Tool”.The weight on this thing will do the work for you, the edge right out of the box is unbelievable. You can tell as soon as you open the box care was taken, and pride was put into producing this tool.I can promise you if you are on the fence like I was, jump over you will not be disappointed. And it arrived two days early.

Pros
  • super nice
Cons
  • Not dishwasher safe

Great chopper. best in my review

This is a cleaver, built to last. How does it stab: Terrible. How does it slice: Ok.How does it chop: World-Class.Seems some of the coating / oxidation rubs off on chicken no matter how many times I clean it. A bit concerning, but hopefully it's just ironoxide. It even rubbed off on a white tortilla, after I just cleaned it.I have a cleaver collection, mostly wood-handled antiques with high-carbon steel. This guy (the Expat "Rowen"?) exceeded all expectations. Absolutly powerful and bomb-proof…

Pros
  • Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets
Cons
  • Edge may chip or break in extreme conditions

FANTASTIC CLEAVER! in my review

"WHO THE HELL NEEDS A $160 CLEAVER?!"Anyone that processes everything from chickens, to ostriches, to wild hogs! This cleaver feels very good in your hands and is just the right weight and length for power and control! Frozen chicken breasts? No problem! The sheath isn't very impressive.but I wouldn't carry a cleaver on my belt anyway. If you have a serious need for a cleaver, this one is the best I've owned, and I've owned many cleavers over the years.

Pros
  • Durability: The ESEE Expat Cleaver Knife is designed to withstand the toughest outdoor conditions. Its rugged construction and durable black G10 handle ensure that it can handle anything you throw at it
Cons
  • Blade may be too thick to fit comfortably in the user’s hand

This Does it All on my review.

Took it camping and used it as my dinner knife. I like that they give you the slug of Idaho that's laser cut in the blade. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Excellent. Just excellent.
Cons
  • Blade requires frequent sharpening

This thing cuts trees

The day after I received this we where having a cook out. I broke it out to cut up the chicken and beef. I look out the window and see some of my friends from another country using it to cut down tree's to make a fire spit. They then used it to de-bark the tree's to make the cordage. Great blade!

Pros
  • Kitchen & Dining
Cons
  • Blade may be too large to fit in some knife blocks or holders
