Stops Hood Chatter - Body and Fairing

Like any Jeep owner, I was disappointed with hood chatter. After some research I narrowed my choices down to a Jeep JL hood latch and a Rugged Ridge hood latch kit. The JL version requires some modifications (drilling and painting) to be installed. The rugged Ridge hood latch fits standard holes for easy alignment. I definitely recommend removing at least part of the front grille. It takes less than a minute (anyone can do it) and you have easy access to the nuts with a standard wrench. It mayโ€ฆ

A tedious process but worth it

You can watch YouTube videos that will help you a lot during the uninstall and install process. On the driver's side you only have to remove the nuts on the triple clamp and on the hood latch. Everything is much easier on the passenger side if you remove the air filter and filter box from the engine compartment. The point is to separate the hoses (there are two of them). Be prepared to use a bobble head with at least a six inch extended ratchet shank. You can run your free hand through theโ€ฆ

Rugged Ridge 11210.17 Textured Black Bonnet Latches

I love these bonnet latches and they are a perfect replacement for the factory bonnet latches or whatever you have now. I bought these black textured hood latches for my 2011. Call of Duty Black Ops Rubicon as I feared they would eventually weather and rot. The instructions were not as well written as they could have been. Not included in the parts list are 6 washers (which I found on the bottom of the box after the installation was complete) and 2 hood bumpers which I found to be much betterโ€ฆ

Amazing upgrade! good for parts

**2012 Wrangler** Wow, these things are a lot meatier than I thought they would be. They make me feel like I'm driving a real tank now. They look great and I love that you can customize them. They are amazing from looks alone, but I bought them because I heard some horror stories from some local jeep drivers about broken hood latches and decided to take the initiative on this one. Installation Notes: The top (the part on the hood) is very simple, and if you can't understand it, sell your jeepโ€ฆ
