What your winch needs

Product as advertised. This is the third winch cover from Rugged Ridge that I have used on numerous winches and jeeps. Easy to put on and take off, and my synthetic winch protects against the sun and other elements.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Clarity

Rugged Ridge Winch Cover

Fits great on my 8500 lb RR winch on my Jeep. Made of thick material that is tear-resistant and waterproof. (Not sure about water resistance as we haven't had any rain in over 2 months and I rarely wash my Jeep.)

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Gotcha

Great value for money

My only recommendation is to spray the lid with some form of protectant to keep it from fading in the sun. Mine has been great so far. I would like to see a better quality rope/rope used to attach the lid as I'm sure it can fail over time. But honestly I expected it for the price I paid. Overall this is a good buy for the money.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other picks

Fits very well! - External Accessories

The only downside to this winch cover is that it has faded in less than a month. This is a replacement winch cover as the last one was dry rotted. I have a feeling it will happen with this one too. Well it's 5/3/20 and I've just bought another winch cover. The other was dry rotted and mostly white. Why can't they make something permanent?

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Weight

The lid works well and keeps most of the dirt and .

The lid works well and keeps most of the dirt out where it doesn't belong. However, it does not wrap around the bottom of the winch. After reading the reviews I sprayed this cover with nylon water repellent and went to Wally World and got 20 4 inch bungee cords for $5. I will cut the ropes if I need to use the winch as long as it stays on and keeps the winch clean.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Update available

Lasts 2.5 years on cases

Overall does what it's supposed to. Mine lasted two years and six months. The color starts to fade fairly quickly depending on how much time it spends in the sun. A year later mine was chalk gray save for the edges that should have been hidden under the winch in the bumper bracket recess. A small crack appeared recently, after which it quickly fell apart as it was very fragile.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Good idea.: Exterior Accessory

That would be a great idea but it doesn't go with my bumper/winch kit. I have a Rugged Ridge modular bumper and a Rugged Ridge winch. The winch sits in the bumper and the cover doesn't fit as snugly as it needed to get the winch into the bumper. If your winch is on the bumper or you have more room I would recommend buying a winch cover for it. Nice durable material and when it fits it looks sharp and keeps it clean and protected.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Chunky
