Good product but I should have read the reviews first

Good product but I should have read the reviews first. cheap screws. only one broke off, but I hardly applied any pressure. You have to solve this problem. I need to figure out how to get the remaining bolt out of my wheel. Disappointment.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Expandable

Rugged Accessories and Parts

They are 7 gauge (.180) thick and weigh 4.25 pounds each. They are powder coated black with a medium gloss finish. Do yourself a favor and buy hardened mounting bolts or you'll have broken bolts in your wheel. Easy to install; All screw holes match. I would recommend it to anyone who needs the look and protection of the rim.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Ideal for extreme off-road use.

If you do a lot of off-road driving, I would advise against it, it distracts a lot from the windows. If you're a rock climber or trekking on rough trails, this is great protection for your spinal discs. I sent mine back as I don't ride off-road as much as I used to. If you get them to paint them the color of your jeep, it really is. make them a little less distracting.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not the best

The holes don't match very well.

Looks great but feels heavy and solid. My only concern is that the holes don't line up well with the XHD wheel (the wheel it was designed for). Be sure to install all screws before tightening. Some of them should be threaded at an angle. I also recommend replacing the included screws with flatter screws. I see consumable bolt heads being sheared off on a hard 4 wheel rail.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Keep Silent

Great rim protector (rim bolts are terrible)

I'm a big Rugged Ridge fan. I almost cried getting scratched on XHD discs. So I ordered them to avoid future scratches. The hex bolts on the rims are HUM. I had 6 heads that fell off me trying to get them off. I drove in a T 30, T 35 and T 40 Torx to pull them out. Went to the local bolt and screw shop and ordered heavier gauge stainless steel bolts to install the protectors. The quality of the tread is amazing. I prefer the look of profileless rims, but if you're a serious off-road enthusiast,

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Questionable senior purchase

Works fine but cheap screws?

I keep a set of 4 to protect my rims when I'm off-road as a $30 piece is much easier to replace/repaint when needed than rims that are cost a few hundred bucks :) The installation info sheet says not to use more than 6 ft-lb of torque, which is where I installed my torque wrench as directed. However, on the first rim, when I got to the last bolt, the head of the bolt came loose before I even screwed it all the way into the rim! Now I'm missing a screw head and the threaded part is still in the…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
