Good item for my old Jeep

Works great and eliminates steering play. The installation took a while, some adjustments are needed. If you do it yourself, it will take you about 20 minutes to get the perfect result. Highly recommend for anyone with a vintage jeep.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Updates

Don't waste your time. You can't do it yourself. Complete garbage.

Does not fit my 79 CJ5 at all. The hinge is too big for the steering box. I had to completely redo the hinges under the STOCK rack. Very misleading and definitely not for a jeep. Take your cheap chinese junk and sell it to someone else.

Works great easy to install if you buy another screw

This thing really took away a lot of my steering wobble and judder when hitting a pothole or bump. Significantly raised. Just make sure you do what others have mentioned and buy a $1 screw at the hardware store for the rear passenger side vent. What is involved is a thin thread and you need a course. This is 7/16x14. My jeep had a reconditioned/modified frame and the entire frame was painted with a thick rhino type material so the threads were tacky. I coated it with WD-40 and it was done…

Durable and perfect fit

Installed on my 1984 CJ7. It is a robust unit with a strong weld on the end of the mounting bracket and a strong zinc coating on the clips on the steering box end. The tube also feels very heavy, although you can't look inside to determine the wall thickness. It came with two bolts, nuts and lock washers for the bracket end and bolts, washers and nuts for the clamp end. I only used one screw on the end of the bracket where it attaches to the frame because it also uses one of the bracket's…

Good construction, good product

This is a great part to add security to your Jeep CJ. This is the large cross brace that physically attaches the steering box (near the bipod) to the opposite frame rail. Build quality is very good, all fasteners are included and are grade 8. Potential buyers should be aware that the frame side brace mounts into existing bolt holes (the first bolt replaces the existing bolt via a leaf spring). plate, and another one is installed just behind it). There was a nut nailed to the inside of the frame

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are some nuances

3) I would recommend throwing away the 7/16 nuts intended for clamping.

I have a 1980 Jeep and this unit is anything but bolted down. What is it though 1) The supplied clamps will need to be ground on the corners to fit properly on the steering box as the box is cast. 2) The steering gear bracket casting will also need to be ground to match the width of the included 7/16 bolts. This thing attaches to your steering gear just above the bipod arm. 4) I did not receive any screws to attach the block to the frame, the block just came in the box. Someone here said to buy

  • Quality assembly

  • Communication with seller

Better than I thought.

I got stuck in deep underwater gullies the other day and was having fun (being stupid); When turning left and right to get traction, the wheels hit the sides of the rut and bent the tie rod, and I noticed that the steering gear was a little loose. I have an H1 steering gear so I'm pretty sure the extra power didn't help me in terms of fitment and flex. So I put it back on and started looking for the braces I knew I should have put on a long time ago. from my store at the moment so I figured I'd
