This "carbon" stem was significantly heavier than the longer, all-aluminum stem that was replaced. Very bulky and looks cheap. While I fully understand that what I purchased wasn't of the highest or even average quality, there are better and lighter options out there. I think the "Carbon" was actually a sticker under the clear coat at the end of the day.

This is a Chinese fake - not very good workmanship, threads not clean, suspicious hardware (marked 10.9 but I doubt it). It's not carbon, it's aluminum with a carbon look finish in the middle. On the plus side it looks good from a distance and is quite light - the 100mm version I got weighed 141g.

(FIRST TIME) THE SELLER lists these extensions as aluminum and carbon fiber, they all come with simulated aluminum CARBON DECALI KNEW THE PRICE IS VERY GOOD TO BE TRUE! Whilst this is a nice stem it is unfortunately not carbon fiber as described. I took it out of the box, thought "that's not carbon", compared it to my carbon bars, seatpost and bike, put it back in the box and printed out a return label. It would be a keeper if I didn't already have an aluminum alloy stem, which I'm trying to swap out for a full carbon one. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before purchasing.
