Best 2.5 " to 3.5 " Adapter I've Ever Used

I needed an adapter to put a 2.5" SSD in my Supermicro SYS-5015A-EHF- D525 1U server to install. The mounting holes on the server are for the four bottom (not side) screw holes of a 3.5 inch hard drive. This bracket has threaded holes in the receiving area, making it almost effortless to install the SSD into this server. Last time I did, I had to drill holes in the case to install the SSD. The attached photo shows the bracket in my Supermicro server. I have built many computers over the past 43

Great product - perfect fit

It's difficult these days to find a product that gets everything right, even for something as simple as this. I was really impressed with everything, it comes with both sizes of screws, it has 3 screw holes on each side and it's about the size of a 2.5" drive. The drive "hangs" in a cage next to the top open side, putting the SSD connector where they were, it was a hard drive. This design also allows for good airflow for cooling. I was of the thickness too of the drive is amazing steel theyโ€ฆ

Compatibility and Reliability

Installation was a little tedious but doable. The screws for the 2.5" drives you want to install require a standard screwdriver, and if you're a DIYer like me you probably have one of those little general-purpose screwdrivers with a million interchangeable bits, but none of them They are long haha. However, it is easy to find a standard screwdriver. There are no stars there. The standard tool-less box and custom Sabrent cart had no rubbing, pinching, or squeezing issues, with the exception ofโ€ฆ

Read this adapter review

1. This product is solid black and looks good on any occasion.2. The holes on the sides for attaching the drives to the adapter are big enough to accept the standard M3 screws needed to hold the drive in place, but the bottom two holes are only big enough for the ones supplied Bolts, NOT the standard M3 bolts If for some reason 5 bolts are missing, you'll need to get the power tool and make a larger hole for the bottom insert.3. The holes on the sides for mounting in a traditional 3.5" bay areโ€ฆ

Are you upgrading your desktop to an SSD? Order one of these!

***UPDATE 6/20/2015*** I got some of these this week and they have replaced the BK-HDDH with this model. The picture of the old model is still on the box, but the other model is in the box. That's a very good thing! :-) The old model had issues with some of Dell's new plastic hard drive mounts. Once the old one was in the bracket and the bracket in the bay, you had to pry it back out with a screwdriver! But the new model solved this problem very well. Now it's even easier to fit into Dell'sโ€ฆ

I have a Sabrent 3.5" to 2.5" SSD adapter for use in a Dell Optiplex Minitower. Dell Optiplex and Precision models contain 3.5 inch hard drives in a screwless enclosure. They have a handle offset to allow access to the SATA interface location of the 3.5 inch hard drive. This offset is a problem with Sabrent (and most other) 3.5" to 2.5" adapters when used in a container like an Optiplex. In hindsight, this is obvious - Sabrent placed the 2.5" drive in the middle of the 3.5" space. This placesโ€ฆ

Perfect fit for 27 " iMac 2013

I've been using SSD drives for a few years now and this is all I'll be using as an internal drive. I recently bought a refurbished iMac that came with Stock 3.5 was delivered." 1TB HDD and wanted to replace it with a 1TB Samsung 840 Evo SSD. I was looking at various 2.5" to 3.5" driver converters and found many differences and wanted to make sure that the adapter I bought had two functions: 1. a 3.5" adapter in full size, meaning it has screw holes on the side of the drive in the right placesโ€ฆ
