Too big, uncoated, no lock washer

I have an auto parts store and workshop. My usual supplier was down and I needed 4 1 7/8 inch magazine clips to complete the job. They cost $6.70 each, are uncoated, have no lock washers, and are 2.05 inches in size. The only "protection against corrosion" was some dirty oil in the plastic bags. The ones I usually retail for $3.75 are correct in all respects and are the correct size. Not impressed. It should be a maximum of $1.00 to $1.50.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Cover anti-corrosion. rusts

In a standard marketing ploy "Sell Your Weaknesses" the manufacturer inserts "anti-corrosion" right into its description. Well, if there is a cover, little does it. They rust after a few months. Given the prominent position, I used it to attach a bracket to the front of my caravan - I was hoping for a nice stainless steel/galvanized steel look, not rusty brackets. Now they are rusty. blah.

Little (if any) anti-corrosion coating

I don't think they have much, if any, anti-corrosion coating. Threads and nuts only have machine oil. Some surfaces have a matte gray finish, but many areas of the matte gray are worn to reveal pure metal. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a clamp that will not rust or will rust slowly. You can find galvanized clamps for about the same price, or about twice as expensive as stainless ones. I was very disappointed in them and sent them back.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Poor manual

Bought to avoid cutting exhaust manifolds.

Purchased to avoid cutting through the exhaust manifolds to snag on band clamp type clamps. I didn't have a very tight fit so I doubted they would work. They are much more secure than other aftermarket clamps I've bought in the past and I was able to tighten them very firmly without removing them so they seal perfectly. The U channel is also perfect for the exhaust pipe with no extra play and play. For the price unbeatable.

Not as good as the Totalflow clamp which I also ordered.

The shaft of this clamp is not very strong and is made of very thin steel compared to the Totalflow clamp I bought (also 2.5"). I wouldn't call the anti-corrosion coating galvanized either. Also, the Totalflow clamp is cheaper AND it's zinc plated! I don't work for Totalflow or anything just to give my fair comparison. dollars and you get less for your money. I could bend it by hand as well, so I don't even think it's properly tempered. I hesitate to use this on my jeep. I can just keep it as a
