Description of SAE 12 Point Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set - GEARWRENCH 9312, 13 Piece

The Gearwrench Ratcheting Wrench has a 72 tooth ratcheting box end needs a minimal 5° to move fasteners vs. 30° for standard wrenches. Off-corner loading design on box end provides better grip and reduces fastener rounding. Thin head and beam provide greater access in confined work areas. Size conveniently stamped on both ends of the beam for quick identification. Included rack for storage and organization

Some Engineer failed basic physics

I first started going absolute HAM on Gearwrench box wrenches when repairing wind turbine gearboxes. These wrenches are incredible! Bang for your buck you can't go wrong, but it should be noted that the engineers who designed the handled carry/hang cases for their wrenches totally IGNORED Gravity! If you want to hang them on the wall you'll need to flip the trays upside down (as pictured) or your wrenches will keep falling out.

Pros
  • Perfect for the garage mechanic working on motorcycles!
Cons
  • The wrenches may slip or strip bolts with too much torque

Good Quality - my new review

Just received the wrench set and the lower price from this seller was a big reason for buying now.I have a eight piece set and found it lacking I needed a more complete set.It would have cost more to just buy the additional five wrenches than buying this 13 piece set for 104 dollars. The free shipping was a great bonus as well.I am impressed with the quality and completeness of this ratcheting wrench set.I would definitely recommend this set for the general and advanced user.UPDATE:The wrenches…

Pros
  • Always utilizing first.
Cons
  • The set may not be easily organized or stored

They're alright for what you get, but not great.

They aren't sealed. That statement wouldn't really be a big deal with other ratcheting wrenches. But this type isn't rebuildable, and there isn't an oil port on them. That means, the first time I used them in a wet environment, the ones I used began seizing up. The 10MM was particularly bad. It would lock up randomly during use. Oiling it by dribbling some light oil through the miniscule gap between the body and the ratchet core didn't seem to help for more than a day or so, but plenty of rust…

Pros
  • Está bastante bien. Un poco pesada pero excelente
Cons
  • The wrenches may not be durable enough for heavy-duty use

A Long Way Short of Snap-on Quality

I bought a set of 16 of these metric wrenches on a Daily Deal special. $60 for 16 wrenches is OK (made in China).I've used / borrowed Snap-on tools from friends - different league to this GearWrench stuff. The GearWrench ratchet quality / feel varies from one wrench to the next with these, some stiff and/ or jerky, some very loose - an indicator of less than top quality IMO. There are visible toolmarks on the jaws of the open end, some dings and chips generally, and the quality of the chrome…

Pros
  • The wrenches are labeled with clear markings for easy identification and selection
Cons
  • The wrenches may not have a non-slip grip for added safety

Love The Ratcheting ends

The ratcheting ends allow for minor movements in tight spaces. They've made my life easier and fewer busted knuckles to boot.

Pros
  • The wrench set offers excellent value for money, with high-quality materials and impressive performance
Cons
  • The set may not include a range of materials for different jobs

Good starter set best in my review

I've had the set about 3 years now, and they're tired. Great to start off with, but plan on an upgrade within a couple years, several of the racheting ends have rounded teeth (heavily used ones) and the one on the 21MM completely fell out. Great set but doesn't hold up for everyday abuse. I could see them lasting quite a while for any DIYer though.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The wrenches may not be able to reach certain angles or positions

Missing wrenches from the set

package arrived today but the tape around the seams was ripped and the SAE wrenched had b loose from their packaging and were scattered around the box when I gathered them up I found one of wrenches under the inside flap but the 9/16 was completely missing when I examined the package further I noted that the tape along the bottom seam was completely torn open I think this allowed the wrench to slip out of the package.

Pros
  • The thin profile of the wrenches allows for easier access to fasteners in crowded engine compartments
Cons
  • The set may not be affordable for those on a tight budget

All seem good except the 20mm.

Going over them briefly after receiving them the ratcheting teeth seem fine for all except the 20mm. The teeth are catching on something once every full rotation. Not sure if this is going to be an issue in the future but we shall see. They all fit nicely in the hand and feel like a decent quality. None of mine seem to have any defects cosmetically.

Pros
  • I've been using these daily for years as a full time mechanic. I like them.
Cons
  • The price is too high for the average consumer

Well packaged and look great

Seem to be working very well. I was hesitant at this price but have done their job for my needs. Sadly I can’t find the same set in Standard for this same price.

Pros
  • The wrench set is made from high-quality alloy steel for superior durability and longevity
Cons
  • The set may not include any extra accessories or attachments

These have paid for themselves many times over

First of all I hate when people write reviews about tools they just got in the mail. They're meaningless. Please don't do that.I bought this set August 1st, 2019 and today is September 30th, 2020 today. My review is thus based on a year of heavy DIY level use for my Land Rover rebuild. Right? This has been my only wrench set used for that purpose. They've been used very steadily and I've beaten on them.During the last year I've been working through a Land Rover rebuild which is first of all…

Pros
  • These are some of the best wrenches made. Once you use these, you’ll never go back to non ratcheting.
Cons
  • The wrenches may not be suitable for professional use

Generally quite happy with these

Generally quite happy with these, and considering the price, they're excellent. The ratchet ends are tight, have a good feel in use, and fit well to standard sized fastener heads.Minor gripes:-The flats on the open ends are rougher than I would like to see, which may lead to premature wear in the coating at these high spots

Pros
  • The ergonomic handle is comfortable to grip and reduces hand fatigue during prolonged use
Cons
  • The set may not be readily available for purchase online

Almost Perfect.: my feedback

I would like to give this set 5 stars because gearwrench makes great wrenches. however I got unlucky and received 1 bent wrench out of the group : the 5/8" one. All the wrenches work perfectly fine. The bent wrench couldn't be a shipping issue as the shipping box wasn't smashed and plus these are forged wrenches. so it must've been just 1 bent from the factory. revain offered a refund however that would take about 2 weeks (1 week from when I send the WHOLE set, and 1 week from whenever they…

Pros
  • The wrenches are versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications, including automotive, construction, and mechanical work
Cons
  • The wrenches may scratch or damage surfaces if not used properly

Very Useful Set of Ratchet Type Wrenches

I was very surprised to see this set doesn’t stop at 3/4” like most do. It goes up to 1 1/4”. I used them a lot on my frame off of my 79 F150. They did exactly what I needed. I’ve used Gearwrench tools before and had no issues with them.

Pros
  • A great quality tool for the price
Cons
  • The set may not be readily available in all stores or regions

Two thumbs up - my new review

General Motors Dealership Technician Approved: used and abused daily 8mm, 10mm, 11mm, 13mm,15mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm, 21mm. Even if they did break I would have still already made my money back 100 times over on them.

Pros
  • Great tool
Cons
  • The wrenches may be difficult to clean or maintain

Solid built wrenches

The wrenches are all solid quality built, of course they are its gearwrench. And they're the kings of ratcheting wrenches, they invented it so they know how to. My only small complaint is the rack it dont last long the wrenches start falling. They don't hold tight like they did in the beginning.

Pros
  • The wrench set is backed by a lifetime warranty, giving consumers peace of mind
Cons
  • The ratcheting mechanism may not fit all hand sizes comfortably

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poor packaging-Great tools

The wrenches are great and I know they will last a lifetime. They came tossed all over the package. They also were very dirty already which was weird.

Pros
  • Awesome tools. Real life saver when space is limited. Holding up great so far. Worth every penny.
Cons
  • The set may not include a range of lengths for different jobs

Great addition to any tool box

I have been a mechanic for over 30 years and have many tools made by or for Snap-On, Mac & Matco but when I was in need of SAE ratcheting wrench set for use on hard to access large and small fasteners I looked very hard at this set, for the big name professional tool company dealers would want $300.00 - $400.00. Although I am not a fan of made in China items especially tools I purchased this set due to great reviews and cost here on revain. I now have used them for a week under most demanding…

Pros
  • The polished chrome finish resists corrosion and provides a professional look
Cons
  • The ratcheting mechanism may wear out faster than traditional wrenches

This aren't real gearwrench

This are probably made in China ther are cheap build and the engagement has like 20°, Husky brand is way better and has lifetime warranty

Pros
  • Off-corner loading design on box end provides better grip and reduces fastener rounding
Cons
  • The wrenches may be too bulky for small jobs or compact spaces
