Good shoe, narrower than expected

Those are good shoes. I wore them 20+ miles for 3 days and they gave me no problems. The only problem is that they are a bit narrower than I expected and I don't have a wide foot. The outer material also picks up dust easily, but when they're clean they look nice and have a durable outsole.

Pros
  • Soft inner lining for extra comfort
Cons
  • They can easily attract dirt and debris

Great shoes for walking the dog, long walks or hikes.

I use these shoes several times a day to walk my dog and occasionally to go shopping. Walks are typically around 1.5 miles each. The tread ranges from wood chips to asphalt and concrete. Sometimes the surface is covered with ice or snow; no problem. They are comfortable and fit perfectly.

Pros
  • Efficient ventilation system for breathable clothing
Cons
  • They may not be as breathable as advertised

Terrible smell in my review.

My feet never smell. For some reason these shoes have an awful smell after wearing them for normal periods. Maybe I received a fake made of low-quality materials? I have no idea, but I can't keep wearing these shoes. They also run very narrow compared to other shoes of the same size.

Pros
  • Makes hiking more comfortable and enjoyable
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for people who need a lot of ankle support.

Like all Salomon products, they are well made. For some reason this model performs less than any other I have. I wore them, so now I'm kind of sticking with them.

Pros
  • Helps prevent calluses and tired feet
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for people who need extra padding.

Recommended: my rating

I was looking for an alternative to wearing boots to work. They're as light as running shoes, comfortable, and have solid heel and arch support. I will check them for reliability and update later. So far they seem great.... *Update* It's been a month now and I've used them in a variety of conditions. They took about a week to break in a bit but now they feel great. The tongue feels a bit swollen for the size of the shoe, but I take that as an extra layer of protection. Shoes work great in…

Pros
  • Protective toe cap for extra safety
Cons
  • They can cause blisters or leg fatigue.

Good shoes, lasted less than a year.

I have had many Salomon shoes. And Lowa's, Montrail (pre-Columbia), Adidas Outdoor, Merrell etc. I have them as "casual" clothing - I live in Colorado so I prefer gore-tex or waterproof shoes even in summer because you never know when to wear them. Walk in puddles, rain, etc. and I do quite a bit of walking and hiking on loose trails. Fit wise they were tight, if my 'measured' fit is 9.5 then that's 10.5 in nikes or trainers. , and the default value is 10 if I want my feet to swell a little…

Pros
  • Smooth and consistent lacing system
Cons
  • They can be difficult to clean

Very convenient: my rating

No complaints. Very happy with it. They're convenient right out of the box. They look good and work well. Haven't tested how waterproof they are yet, but if they're anything like my other Salmon Gore-Tex hiking boots, they should be great.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for people with wide feet.

Simple shoes for serious people.

These shoes are not for fashion, they are meant to get dirty. This is to protect your feet from elements not filled with light substances like air. The price is a bit high, but it will last 6-10 years with daily wear.

Pros
  • Stable base for maneuverable movements
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for those with vigorous activity.

Looks great and good quality.

I haven't realized how comfortable the shoes are yet. It's a little tight in the front so I'm hoping after a few weeks of wearing it will be a lot more comfortable. The shoes look great and the quality seems good. If the shoes are comfortable I plan to buy another pair in a different color.

Pros
  • Provides adequate ankle support
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for people who need extra arch support.

nope new rating - my new rating

Not durable at all. I thought I could use them for everyday shoes but they didn't last that long. Very disappointed as I thought they would keep me longer. I can't really recommend them. If you use them lightly, they might work for you.

Pros
  • trail running and hiking
Cons
  • The price may be too high for some consumers

This waterproof hiking shoe is NOT WATERPROOF.

These Salomon hiking shoes are leaking and not waterproof. After speaking to customer service, Salmon had an issue with their waterproof hiking boots, which keep coming back.

Pros
  • Exceptional quality and craftsmanship
Cons
  • They may not be as breathable or waterproof as advertised.

Pay for what you get

This is one of the best all round shoes I have ever worn. I bought these for work but am really considering getting a second pair because they are so cool. They are durable and comfortable at the same time. Worth every penny.

Pros
  • Great shoes. Such a cute dog ate her in a few weeks
Cons
  • Not as practical as FTY225389 ART NO409681

Good buy: my rating

A bit pricey but I took them for a walk on really wet grass and wasn't disappointed. Great for comfort but check UK sizing Great for daily use in any environment.

Pros
  • Ideal for everyday use in all conditions
Cons
  • They may not provide adequate arch support for people with high arches.

The only brand everyone should wear

The product is a bit stiffer and initially I felt comfortable. Not owned by Solomons as before; but break fast and mold your feet. very comfortable and light

Pros
  • Ideal for long periods of standing or walking
Cons
  • They may not provide enough support for people with foot injuries.

Light, comfortable and with good traction.

Very light and comfortable shoe for trail running. The tread grips rocks and roots incredibly well, even when wet. These are normally size 12 men's tennis shoes, but I had to change them to 1/2 size larger to get them to fit properly.

Pros
  • Lightweight alternative to bulky hiking boots.
Cons
  • They can be too stiff and not allow enough movement.

I wish I had bought them

Look and sit great. If you tend to get your feet hot and sweaty, you will end up with puddles on your boots. I thought GorTex should let the feet breathe and protect against water from the outside. I can wear mine for about half a day before they get wet inside and need to be replaced with a dry pair of shoes.

Pros
  • Ideal for different foot sizes
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for humid climates.

Great Gore-Tex shoes!

I love these shoes! I live where it can rain but not too cold. All solomon shoes are perfect in everyway! Stay warm and breathe well. would recommend.

Pros
  • All Solomon shoes are perfect in every way.
Cons
  • Nice looking shoes but not entirely waterproof.

Effective and as advertised

I've now done several hikes in these boots, the longest of which has been a 15 mile mountain hike. The shoes are comfortable for extended wear and I feel the design keeps my feet from slipping out from under me. I will buy again if necessary. I haven't tested the water resistance, I try to avoid water as much as possible.

Pros
  • Comfortable and breathable for everyday wear
Cons
  • For some consumers, they may not be very convenient.

Shoe size is wrong!

I ordered two pairs of these shoes, my usual size 11 and 11 1/2, through Walmart Wardrobe. I could barely start cumming in both pairs. I've never stood up with my whole leg in a pair. More like a size 9 shoe.

Pros
  • Cushioning midsole for enhanced comfort
Cons
  • They may not provide enough support for your feet.

Non-standard Salomon fit

I have owned many pairs of Salomon shoes over the past 15 years; from trail running to boots. Pros: well made, good sole, space in the toe box, looks good. Cons: Loose heel that isn't very adjustable with this lacing system, a little more than other Salomon's I've had (all were 12's). Overall I really want to like these shoes but they just didn't fit me. Can't find the right fit, not as comfortable as other Salomons I've had.

Pros
  • Great for long hikes
Cons
  • Colors may fade over time
