Best Trail Runners for Hiking

I use these Salomon shoes for hiking along the east coast where there are so many rocks, boulders, loose rocks, roots - you name it! These shoes have never disappointed me! The soles are so impressive with big lugs and very grippy! I used to wear Altra Lone Peaks but not anymore! I had to order smaller wide shoes than I usually wear but they ended up working!

Go online for foot measurement chart

Bought for my girlfriend. Her feet hurt from her old shoes. We walk and run a lot of trails, so a lot of rocks, roots, etc. We stomp downhill (Hawaii). You are wonderful. No more sore feet, not to mention amazing grip when climbing. If you go to their website you can download a chart to measure your shoe size, which works great. Fits perfectly.

Sturdy and comfortable

These shoes are very comfortable and have great support. I have wide feet and the shoes have enough room for my toes. I broke them after walking two miles and didn't feel unwell. I also wear them all day with no problem and am a person who spends most of the day barefoot. They're solid, I love the hiking profile and the easy lacing system. In addition, they are breathable. Looks like they'll last a long time.

Great trail runner Super comfy!

So convenient! I usually get horrible blisters in my hiking boots but I changed them just before a short hike and not a single blister. Of course, when I get to a more difficult route, I need boots, but for now these will do. If you're thinking of a pair of running shoes, get them! The protector is amazing. I ordered my normal size and they were too big. I reordered a half size smaller and they fit much better. Could have gone full size but didn't want them to be too small.

Prepare to buy a second pair today if I can't find them!

Always wore Hoka Trail shoes, never thought I would need shoes like this. Salomon has been making good products for a long time. When they make a new version of a shoe, it's actually better than the previous one, which is ALWAYS wrong. I wish this shoe was wide and in more colors. I don't have very wide feet, but the normal ones were narrow in the middle. I found and bought a Speedcross 4 Wide. Same size but not as wide and too short. The material in the toe area is not as good as the 5, but…

Good grip on the sole.

I need a wide shoe especially for backpackers and I decided to try these because my husband has men's sneakers. I usually run 7w but in running shoes and hiking shoes I go 1/2 up as they tend to run out and I need room for my toes. That's great! Very comfortable with great grip and plenty of toe room. I could probably wear a 7w but thought a little more room would be better if I need to wear a thicker sock or my feet swell from the summer heat. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because of the…

Good grip, perfect for muddy trails!

I bought these trail running shoes and they did not disappoint! When I first got them I took them for a short 2 mile run and they were very comfortable but now I have a few small blisters on my heels. I would recommend wearing socks with it, but otherwise they fit great! I like the traction on the bottom, it seems to hold up really well in the mud too. I have a hard time finding good running shoes online because I have a very wide foot which is between an 8 and 8.5. I ordered the 8.5W and am…

Finally found the

I spent several hundred dollars and returned many shoes that fit my feet. Finally found it. Wider toe box, narrower heel hugs the foot snugly without slipping. But in a size 10.5 I don't want a square shoe with a chunky sole that makes my feet look bigger. I like some shoes and decide to keep them. Then, after walking for half an hour, my toes hurt. They took me on my first hike and I didn't have to rush to take them off to save my legs. Since then I've been wearing them every day. Love the…
