EASY TO INSTALL AND USE: The plug-and-play system does not require any plumbing or mechanical alterations. The electrode just drapes into the main body of water, and generates chlorine straight from there!. 1-YEAR WARRANTY: All ControlOMatic products are Made in the USA and come with a 1-year warranty. Great product best in my review

5 months into use in 250 gallon hot tub; I’ve added water twice and one handful of salt pellets and the water is still crystal clear.

Pros
  • Provides a soothing, relaxing spa experience
Cons
  • Can be less effective in large or heavily used hot tubs or spas

This has changed our hot tub experiance

I used to struggle with the chemical balance in my tub, and if It was off at all would get itchy skin and eventually rashes. This has made tub maintenance so easy AND I feel like the salt is actually good for my skin, as opposed to vice versa. Take your time adding salt at the beginning, but once you get it right the maintenance is 10 times easier then traditional chemicals.

Pros
  • No more harsh chlorine smell or burning eyes
Cons
  • Can take time to fully generate chlorine levels

Make your hot tub a salt water spa with ease at a super price!

This product made our hot tub a truly rejuvenating experience. Super easy to install and within hours your hot tub is a salt water spa. We purchased Dead Sea Salt instead of pool salt and the results are incredible. Super soft skin, itchy spots gone, no more chlorine/bromine smell. Once you get the pH in line it’s super easy to maintain. No need to cut water lines, this unit just plugs into a standard outlet and then has a "drop-in” mechanism that you just move out of the way when you use the…

Pros
  • 2.31 pounds
Cons
  • May not work with all spa and hot tub brands/models

I have had this installed for about a month and so far we are in love. We have a Salt Water generator (chlorine) in a large above ground pool and have been happy with it for years, once we just bought our first hot tub (440 gallons) I knew we had to get one for it. So far we have it set on level 7 and it keeps our chlorine level around 3ppm and we almost never have to add any bleach/chlorine unless our whole family goes in or we sit in it for an extended time, then I usually only add about 2-3…

Pros
  • Salt cell lasts for years, resulting in savings in the long-term
Cons
  • Can be affected by the consistency of salt used

Game changer in my review

I went from checking my spa chemicals every other day to once a week plus. Chlorine has been perfect and despite my worries, PH is completely under control. My only issue was the chlorine went down to 0 once because I didn’t realize the unit goes into a lower output vacation mode when a button hasn’t been pressed in 2 weeks. goes to show how low maintenance it truly is. I sort of wish you could disable that feature though.

Pros
  • Promotes healthy and clean water
Cons
  • Can produce excess chlorine gas if not properly maintained

Awesome.make sure salt level is enough

I struggled with Bromine for 3 years with the spa. The PH and alkalinity were always low no matter how much chemical I added. It was so bad, the water corroded many parts of the new spa. Totally frustrated, I decided to switch to salt after ready the reviews. I drained and added new water to the 450 gal spa. Added 2 bags of the Nexa spa salt. The 3.3lb bags say one for each 250 gallons. Over the next two weeks, the chlorine would not get above 2.0ppm. I had the Chlormaker on 8 and hit boost…

Pros
  • Automatic self-cleaning feature ensures consistent performance
Cons
  • May require frequent adjustments to maintain proper chlorine levels

Easy to set up: my feedback

I bought this chlorine generator to replace my old one which was failing. I am happy this one has buttons to push for my settings, unlike banging it against the side of the hot tub like my old one, which was very hard to set. It has a boost feature which is perfect when you need to raise your chlorine level. Setting the output for the size of your tub is simple also. My old one lasted for 7 years. It would be great if this one did the same.

Pros
  • Pools, Hot Tubs & Supplies
Cons
  • Can be difficult to troubleshoot if issues arise

This Salt water setup is really nice. Very easy to use

I was a doubter of the claims before I bought this product. I have been using Chlorine for the past 7 years in my Hot tub, but my wife has grown more sensitive to the stuff so we looked at other options. This Salt water setup is really nice. Very easy to use. I am using 1/3 Dead Sea Salt and 2/3 regular Pool salt. The spa just feels better. The water is the clearest it has ever been and no noticeable chlorine smell or feel. As my wife says, "The spa now has good energy". You will love…

Pros
  • Great for those with sensitive skin or allergies
Cons
  • May not work effectively in outdoor hot tubs or spas

Will never go back to Bromine

Been using ChlorMaker chlorine generator for about 4 years. My first electrode only lasted a year. The second electrode had some improvements regarding the epoxy used to seal up the connections. This electrode lasted from August 1017 till Nov 2020 (3 years). I have a 400 gallon spa and run at power level 7 due to heavy use of the spa. This time around instead of just replacing the electrode I opted to purchase the entire unit so I have some spare parts. This new electrode looks to be improved…

Pros
  • Helps reduce water waste and chemical usage
Cons
  • Can be difficult to install if the spa or hot tub is in an awkward location

Works way better than expected

We have a salt pool that's circular, it is 10 feet in diameter and about 32 inches deep and I kept the setting on 8 and it is making the perfect amount of chlorine.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • May not effectively sanitize larger hot tubs or spas

Great product and service!

Bought this for my new above ground 8,600 gallon pool. It worked great then quit. I called them and they sent me a mailing label to send it back. The repaired the circuit board and sent it back and it’s going strong! Nice helpful folks, and a simple to install and operate product!

Pros
  • Perfect for busy spa and hot tub owners
Cons
  • Can affect water clarity if not monitored properly

Must have for vacation homes

Chlormaker DO is an terrific product. I bought this direct from the mfgr not on Best Buy over a year ago. It has worked flawlessly.I have a vacation home with a hot tub, which is quite hard to keep chlorine levels proper when you are there only on weekends. I found myself traveling a couple of hours just making sure the hot tub had enough chlorine when we cannot come up. With this I have no worries that chlorine levels stay consistent even for weeks at a time! You just need to monitor the ph…

Pros
  • Extends the lifespan of spa and hot tub equipment
Cons
  • Can be difficult to replace once the warranty expires
