Based on the answers to the questions in the product description, I assumed that the built-in Android 4.2 operating system could be updated. My cousin really liked this item. It was great for studying on the go and staying in touch with her friends and family. It charged quickly (good for impatient kids) and the screen was crisp and bright. Shame she lost it a few months ago but would very much like to buy another.

My experience with this tablet wasn't great. Got it as a gift for Christmas and when I first turned it on it was decent. But then, when I started downloading and using the materials, I started having problems. At first it restarted every 30 minutes to an hour. And it seems pretty sluggish too. Maybe I caught a broken tablet as the reviews are pretty decent. I cannot recommend this tablet and if you want a Samsung tab I would recommend the previous model or 4th gen.

Samsung beats Apple unconditionally. Where older Apple has restrictions on what can be downloaded (3.0 or 5.0), Samsung doesn't. The old Apple can't download 4.0+ apps and there is no way to update the old Apple to download 4.0+ apps. The only option is to buy a newer Apple product. Really get there. Samsung Light product.
