I got this because my mother in law had it and it was amazing using it there. I bought it because it's really beautiful. But after a few uses it didn't seem to sharpen as well as it used to. But it's still better than others I've bought in the past.

I have no idea how to use it. The Blae is adjustable but no instructions were given as to which blade to use for different items such as serrated knives, scissors, secateurs etc. The instructions are very vague, so I can't properly sharpen these items. ug.

If you are a professional chef and you give someone to sharpen your knives, you have more options. I only have a cheap set of knives that I've had for years. This thing works like a dream for me. It makes my knives very sharp. Yes, I can see the metal inclusions, but as I said, my knives are not that expensive and they are perfectly adequate for my needs.

Not quite unusable! While it doesn't sharpen your blade enough to slice through fresh meat without some serious trimming (I use it for hunting knives, not kitchen knives), it sharpens enough that you can spend a lot less time on the fine grit. grindstone to get to this point.
