Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

I have been using this lens for two years, high-qualitycomnstruction, good photo quality. It has large distortions when buying, this must be taken into account, and notcomunted as a minus! It is better to take a picture of an object from a short distance, architecture is basically, if you experiment, you can take an original photo, which is why I like this lens. Sample photo

Pros
  • Sharpness at all apertures, proprietary color reproduction of samyangs, fits comfortably in the hand.
Cons
  • Huge front lens

I was surprised by the quality for this price.

This is a fisheye. Its geometry is specific. It’s stupid tocommplain about it, you yourself know what you are buying. Itcomrrects perfectly in lightroom => an excellent lens for landscapes. Regarding the lack of autofocus. I bought it for 10 thousand, new. Where you will find an autofocus lens (where it is not needed) and of such quality for such money, I don’t know. Yes, and you can’t talk about it as a disadvantage, again you know what you buy. \\\ I was very pleased with the lens. Great…

Pros
  • -Sharp even at 3.5 -With this FR, it is an excellent super-wide for crop. After 18mm, there are completely different sensations - Focusing. Almost all the time I have focus at infinity. Even indoors. - Well assembled. No backlash anywhere, nothing dangles, you can feel the build quality. -Smooth focus ring. - Shows itself well against backlight -Large viewing angle - Fisheye (good for taking pictures in clubs, indoors) - Comes with lid, hood, case.
Cons
  • -There is no way to install filters. In some cases, you can cheat and insert them between the lens mount and the lens itself. But installing a protective filter there is stupid, because it should protect the lens itself. -Well, it is very sensitive to dust. I remember that I completely cleaned everything from the lens, installed the camera, left it for 2 hours to shoot a time-lapse. When I was going home, the lens was almost clean. sky. But okay, a single frame. But when you have about 200 photos, and you need to delete it everywhere, this is a problem.

Not exactly what I wanted, but basically everything is fine.

my model lacked focus at infinity. even with a closed aperture. just awful! I didn’t want to mess with the store, I sat at home for half a day with screwdrivers and fixed everything - I shifted the spinning ring for focusing along the internal thread by a centimeter - and lo and behold ! then collected several more times, but at least it was good that he achieved what he wanted. now the pictures are sharp even on an open bar, plus I made the minimum focusing distance smaller due to the fact…

Pros
  • cheap fisheye, no need for autofocus, but would be very handy. what is that kind of money.
Cons
  • my model lacked focus at infinity.

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

a very good thing, the absence of af does not bother, it is elementary to close the hole and everything will be in sharpness. though it still seemed inconvenient to change the lens, when you insert it into the bayonet, you want to grab the aperture or focus ring, without a lens hood there are no problems with this, but if it is on, changing the lens is a little inconvenient

Pros
  • internal focusing, aperture adjustment ring, the ability to use in full frame, the quality and strength of the construct, the focusing ring is wide and comfortable, smoothly adjustable. pleasant to the touch and feel the quality of the product, and the angle! just go crazy, photograph a person at a distance of 30cm - fit into the frame with legs + removable hood! The old model didn't have that kind of luck. it’s the best for concert shooting, but it will probably be cool at weddings, landscapes, architecture . I think this lens has a lot of possibilities
Cons
  • the hood and lid are rather weak, as if they were toys, and large. but I think it's just weird specifically, the lens has minuses for that kind of money? No!

Great for pan photography

For the money this is a great lens for pan photography. I use it on my Canon 5D MK II (full frame sensor). I take 4 photos to merge them into a 360° panorama. This gives me quality that is superior to purpose built 360° cameras. Fringes are minimal. focus is ok Not as sharp as my regular lenses but good enough when split into 4 photos for 360°.

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • unreliable

Ultra wide angle with processing

Decided to write a review on this lens because I almost never see mixed photos with this lens. I have a Canon 6D. This is a full frame lens. The images come out a bit with 180 degrees More "Defisheye" editing allows you to get an ultra-wide result, which is very enjoyable! The lens doesn't have autofocus but I use it at infinity and never have to manually focus, I feel like it's always sharp

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • For old

Extremely niche lens for the price

I have the Canon version. This is a fully manual lens. This means that even though it's APS-C, I can still use it on my full screen (images look round). Focus and aperture are set manually. You don't need to focus much in that range anyway, and depth of field doesn't seem to change much with aperture, so it mostly depends on how much light you want to let through. Image quality and sharpness are good. It has issues with glare and sometimes chromatic aberration. Another problem with this lens is

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • crumpled packaging

I checked my previous purchases (yes I'm a Revain fan) and realized I forgot to rate this wonderful lens. Set it to f/5.6 for most of your shots. Zoom in if you don't have a tripod or low light. Walk less - almost never. The aperture is easy to change, so always check. f/3.5 is always disappointing. f/5.6 is impressive. It dazzles a little when shooting at night with street lights. Spring. But overall they look really cool. If you are not close (e.g. 10 feet or closer), the fisheye effect will…

Great fisheye, incredible price

When I first saw this fisheye lens advertised at Revain I had to admit I had my doubts. I never considered the possibility of buying a fully manual lens and it seemed to me that owning such equipment would be a hassle. Oh how wrong I was. This Samyang 8mm CS-II lens has the deepest depth of field I've seen. I just set the focus to beyond infinity and as long as I'm shooting something at least 1 meter away everything in the field of view is perfectly clear. The lens is insanely sharp for…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Clarity

Second time to the charm!

I originally ordered this lens in the Rokinon version of Revain. Samyang makes the same lens and it's rebranded under different names, but it's exactly the same except it's stamped with a different name. Reviews of this lens under different brand names are scattered all over the map. The copy of Rokinon I received earlier could not be focused under any circumstances. Now this lens is fully manual and the only way to focus is in live view and even then the focus is very fine. Anything over two…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
