I use a 3 megapixel digital camera and you're really not good at working with it unless you have a big fat memory card. 64MB is a good amount for this card as you can take at least 65 shots (at the highest resolution). Since such a map also takes some time to fill up, you don't have to constantly stop to erase pictures when you should be taking pictures.
