measures in mm/inch: Test, Measure & Inspect

I must have misread the description so I take the blame. All I needed was millimeter accuracy for gems, I don't need inches or conversion. If you just want to read MM, this isn't for you. Once the gem was measured I had to click on the mm/inch reading and as I said I don't need the inch reading I can use a ruler. For example, the mm reading on the stone, which I knew was 10mm, would give me 9.98 or something. I added other gems thinking this would give me the correct measurement in millimeters…

Should have bought this first one

This is my third caliper. My first metal/digital. and I'm in seventh heaven with happiness. It has weight, definitely not fragile so you know it's not a toy. Accommodates smaller watch batteries for easy replacement when the time comes, and includes multiple spare batteries. I also like the colour, good contrast when looking for it in the clutter that is becoming my workspace. I will let my kids play and destroy my old plastic. This bad boy is for dad. Affordable Metal Vernier Caliper

This caliper isn't worth the $100 Mitutoyo but for the price it's exceptionally well made and seems accurate enough for its price. Pros: All parts are metal, including the body that houses the LCD. accurate enough. US coin sizes are within specifications of both calipers and US Mint specifications. The caliper gives imperial measurements in fractions of an inch, not decimals (although you can choose decimals if you prefer). If you use imperial units, this is a must. I don't want to convert…
