Far superior to the Bose Wave III at less than 30% of the price.

At this price point, you just can't ask for more. It's less than 1/3 the cost of a Bose Wave radio and has many features Bose doesn't offer. This unit replaced my Bose Wave Radio III. Bose has virtually no treble, nothing above 7kHz. This makes NPR sound bloated and boring. Even in talk radio mode, the Bose sounded too incomprehensible for talk radio. The Sangean has clearer highs and cleaner bass through the rear ports. The Bose time indicator was less than a dime (see picture)! Try to focus…

LCD displays are dead, now it's a $75 paperweight!

I love this clock/radio! Until after 20 months half of the LED lighting failed. This device sat on my bedside table (out of the sun) the entire time I had it. I used the product manual to do a "reset" but that didn't work. I called Sangean customer service and they helped me with the reset (I found I did it right myself). The support rep suggested I remove the backup batteries and do another reset. This didn't solve the problem. We tried resetting the device a few more times, including…

Great sound and rich features!

Fantastic multifunction radio! My only complaint is that it doesn't support HD radio, but I did my homework and knew that before I bought it. That's not a complaint, but for the price and the overall feature set of the device, it would be nice. It has RDS so you can still see the band, song title and station. Otherwise it plays very clear and sounds fantastic. This device replaced the Polk i-Sonic, which finally met its death after many years of everyday use, so the Sangean had many problems…

Cons
  • Some little things

Bought this radio 2 months ago. In the beginning it was great. It worked great. But after a month the buttons stopped glowing. Not a big problem so I didn't complain. Now the alarm doesn't work properly! It just hums even when set to music. He just changed on his own, and no amount of reprogramming will fix his waking up to the music. What else can go wrong with this radio? Unfortunately Revain only has a one month return policy so I now have to deal with Sangean under the warranty. For this I…

Expensive junk - don't waste your money

I've already bought 2 of these. I use it on my bedside table primarily as a clock/alarm and secondarily because of the good quality of the radio. After years of cheap alarm clocks I wanted something better. This latest version will be my last Sangean product that I will buy. I've had this current one since late December 2018. Just this week the watch's display is going crazy and almost unreadable (see photo). Since this is the primary use of this item, it's pretty much useless to me right now…

Very high quality radio alarm clock

First of all I would like to thank my 22 year old Sony dream machine which has finally breathed its last. And it could go on if my 4-year-old grandson didn't keep hitting the snooze button. On Sangean. I wanted a better radio with a digital tuner and better sound quality. Do well in both categories. It's a very well built, solid, heavy, impressive unit. And for its size, the sound quality is excellent. Looks cool too. Overall I'm very satisfied and would highly recommend this radio, however I…

A Tale of Two Radios: WR-22 vs. RCR-20

It's time to ditch your clock radio. Used over 8 years ago with a non-working CD player, tight, faulty buttons and a volume control that screamed loud noise when set to very low levels. After some deliberation, I ordered the WR-22 (desktop). A day later, this RCR-20 (clock radio) deal was changed to a Prime delivery deal. Confused, ordered. It's more of a clock radio than the WR-22. So without planning, I will deliver both radios within the same 24 hour period. I think I'll listen and play both

No customer regrets - I'm very happy

I'm so happy with my new Sangean RCR-20 clock radio that I was wondering what others were unhappy with. The biggest complaints were poor AM reception and poor Bluetooth playback. I compared the RCR-20 to two AM radios and found them generally comparable. Radio-Locator.com lists six AM stations I should be tuned into by my zip code, and the RCR-20 picked up five; the sixth came when I turned the radio for better reception. However, only four of these were quiet enough for regular use. For AM…

Review updated on 10/26/2019: New problem. The LEDs located under the keys begin to go out and stop illuminating the keys at night. I cannot trust this product for long. The manufacturer's support page does not load. A star! Original Review: My biggest problem is the clock function itself. This is also the reason why I decided to write a review. It's a clock radio, after all, but RCR-20s aren't as accurate as accurate clocks. I am writing this review today, March 11, 2019, the day after…
