Sanus Full Motion Mount Extends Studs Review

Functionally, the TV mount is reliable. The instructions and kit could not have been better. In general it's great. There is a huge (for me) problem. Allegedly retractable. This has been the most important feature for me so far. The bracket slips. However, you have to remove the TV and the screws, then it will slip. This is totally unacceptable to me as I wanted to move the TV while it was still installed.

I used to buy bindings of the same brand and type. This one should be just as great. That was a must with our big TV. Will be updated when the TV is installed. **Update** This mount scared the shit out of me. The description says it can hold 125 lbs. My TV weighs 107 pounds and struggled to carry it. The connection wasn't secure, and there wasn't a bulge or anything on top to prevent the lever from being pulled back far enough to fail. I don't want to find my $2,000 TV on the floor…

The mount is great except it doesn't spring back into level when you slide it out and then press it against the wall. It just takes a little nudge to straighten it out. Update 6 months in advance: I noticed that the TV tilts down by itself. After about a third tightening of the incline adjustment, I noticed that the screw you adjust only rotates within the lever assembly. Garbage, full of garbage. You can add a bracket that will mount flush to the wall and still the TV will be 1 inch off the plane. There is no level adjustment like others I've used as I mistakenly believe there is. Full movement in this case does not involve a plane from side to side. I had to disassemble several TVs and guess how strong the off-plane wall mount needed to be to make the TV look right. I hate it. But now it's on the wall and on the level and I'm just burned out to fight it, too…

Excellent mount, very long (24 inch) Mount easily grips most studs in wall. The mount is very strong and easily holds a 65 inch Samsung (about 60 pounds). The way the swivel sits in the mount is very unique, it can be moved/slide about 6 inches in any direction within the mount. This is in addition to the left/right up/down movement of the hinge itself. This gives a HUGE range of motion when the mount is up. No installation problems at all. Works great. The center arm is stiff as other reviewers said but when I contacted the manufacturer they said it could be adjusted and called them for instructions so I plan on doing that. The only reason I deducted 1 star is that there is no level control to use once the TV is installed. Some TV mounts have +/- 3 degrees of height adjustment for fine-tuning after you've mounted the mount to the wall and positioned your TV.
