I don't understand why the climbing block doesn't come with the machine but a mat and towel does. The mat is not thick enough to avoid indenting the floor carpet, but does a good job of avoiding transfer of marks from the machine or unit.

I wanted the mat to protect my floor, but I didn't expect the added benefit of a little cushioning to make my ride more comfortable. I thought the lift block would make the ride more comfortable, but I didn't expect how much more stable it would make the bike. I expected the towel to be cheap and I was right!
