Saris Unique Triple Storage 35 Inch Review

I am very happy with this purchase. Requires no assembly. Just place it on your bed and secure your bike forks (with optional fork mounts). As it is, it makes a very stable impression. Or you can drill them directly into the floor of the truck bed for added security. It's a very low profile so it's practically invisible if you leave it in bed, or you can easily stow a shelf under the seats. A good product!

I often ride my bikes in a pickup truck and didn't want to bolt some of the fork mounts to the body rails because I put the tops on and off a lot. I bought this bike rack thinking it would be stable in the back of a truck. I've found that I have to center my heaviest bike to keep it from tipping over when cornering. Allows you to park your road bike upright in your Subaru Outback. There isn't much headroom, so I have to position the bike carefully so I don't mess with or damage the car's headliner. I also have to remove the seatpost, although this isn't a major inconvenience. In a van or large SUV, you might not have these worries. Having the bike inside, protected from dirt and safe from theft, is a significant benefit.

I like the Saris Triple Track holder, but Saris doesn't make the 15mm axle mount that comes with 98% of all mountain bikes today. I bought another brand and it works fine with my Saris traps, but Saris has informed me that this will void my warranty. Good customer service (no). I should have just bought a 2x6x34" board and attached my aftermarket 15mm axle mount to it as it would have been cheaper and less obnoxious.

This is a well made and very versatile piece of equipment. I use it in a Honda CRV and it works great. I like the fact that it tucks away easily when not in use or stows under the trunk floor. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the price. Although I really liked the product, the price seems a bit high to me. I am sure that I will use it for years and in a few months I will overcome the price problem and recommend it to my friends.
