I like this hub, especially since Apple can't figure out how to position the ports on the front of the monitors. Save me some time when I have to blindly search the back of the monitor to connect a USB or SD card. This is a must for all iMac users.

I got this on the 26th. Well two months later it no longer works. . Two of the three USB ports work, and the SD card port doesn't work at all. Maybe I should have paid an extra $1.20 for an extended warranty. Now I will know how to do it. I originally bought it for the SD card as I have a couple of Targus hubs (which work great btw) but they don't have an SD slot. The SD slot was the first. After 7 years we decided it was time to upgrade our old iMacs to the 2017 version. But now both the USB ports and the SD card slots are on the back of the new "thin" computers and it's too inconvenient to reach them. These Satechi hubs are a great solution for us. Their materials and style match the iMac perfectly, and the build quality is superb. The cable is long enough to reach one of the rear USB ports but not so long that it gets in the way as you can see in the attached image.

Added to my desktop to use with my MacBook Pro. The finish looks great. The SD card reader works well and protects my MacBook's card reader from wear and tear when I'm in the office. The USB ports are great for flash drives and sync cables. In general I am satisfied. I just wish there was an option for a longer USB cable, and I want the cable to come out the back of the unit rather than the left side.

Works great when not shutting down. This is an everyday occurrence. In sleep mode, the device turns off frequently. When I finally wake up my iMac, I get a whole wall of these "disabled" messages. The spam of these messages is really annoying. We will look for an alternative solution.

As a photography enthusiast, I used the SD card reader slot on my old iMac all along, but it's moved to the back of the new model. This was the first feature I tested after plugging it in out of the box. I already knew from other reviews that the SD card must be inserted with the label facing down. I really liked this hub when I received it. I've been using it for about 3 months and one of the USB2 ports is dead now. It may have always been dead, hard to tell as I don't often have to use all three ports at the same time. It took too long to figure out why I couldn't connect my phone before trying a different port. Pretty boring. If you get a fully functional device, it's a pretty great device, but its value will definitely be reduced if it's not fully functional.

This is a great looking little part, but unfortunately it just doesn't work. The first one I ordered had a card reader that just didn't recognize the cards. Satechi sent me a replacement. After about six weeks, the exchange also failed. First the card reader element stopped recognizing cards and then none of the ports worked. This time Satechi didn't respond to my email asking if they think it's just bad luck or if they know this product just doesn't work. No response, so I'm guessing they know
