I was really hoping this converter would work. Unfortunately it isn't. I was ready to see Castlevania: Bloodlines cleaned up. All I got was a red screen with blurry lines. Also, crop pictures and switch between NTSC/PAL without touching the box. Yes, I have the converter in the video box for those who are interested.

Ordered two of these boxes. None that I could bring to work. The first time, no image was displayed at all. I tried going through HDMI to make sure it's my scart cable and nothing showed up on screen. I thought I might have a lemon. The second one really caught fire and started smoking when I put it in the back of the box and didn't even turn it on.

I read reviews that the device is demanding. It definitely was. I've tried this on multiple TVs with no success, but randomly it started working. The picture looked pretty good and I was about to leave a rating of at least 4 stars, but the next day it stopped working at all. Sometimes I could hear the sound but I never saw the picture again. Device works as advertised. It does a great job of displaying SCART content over HDMI and works with my North American Genesis Model 1 using the SCART cable I ordered. You can also switch between 50Hz and 60Hz as well as HDMI and Scart content on the fly, with a delay between these sources of around a second.
