Pretty but discreet Dummy handle is only for one side of the door

These are beautiful, well-made door handles that go well with our modern decor. My husband had no trouble installing them - the first install only took about 10 minutes as he was just learning how to do it. Please note that the dummy lever is only for one side of the door. So if your doors are identical to ours and you need a dummy lever (handle) on either side, please order two. Ordinary door handles naturally come with handles for both sides of the door. We are very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Decorative non-rotating trim strip used on one side of the door
Cons
  • Something different

Surprise Find!: Door Hardware and Locks

My husband and I bought a mid-century modern home and all the upgrades that came with the 1950's home. The master bedroom has double doors and when it came time to replace the doors and hardware we knew we wanted to secure the right hand door with a dummy lever. Each Schlage Latitude lever costs about $35-$38, so the cost of replacing levers on 10+ doors quickly adds up. We thought we'd use a lever that we never intended to use on a fixed door just to achieve the look, but we were happy to find

Pros
  • for installation on existing standard pre-drilled doors
Cons
  • No Instructions

No backplate. If your door already has a hole

I bought the Schlage Latitude series for my whole house and would highly recommend them, but this dummy is for doors that don't already have one had previously drilled a hole. When I ordered this I thought it would come with some sort of back plate to cover each hole (although when I took the time to go back and read it the description made it clear that the package contained 1 piece, so that was my fault). My house was built in 1964 and the previous owner put handles on the inside and outside…

Pros
  • Works with both right and left swing doors
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Great Product: Door Handles

We have replaced all of our pen handles throughout the house with these handles. They look modern, clean and easy to install. They feel good in the hand. This particular purchase was made for dummy levers on cabinet doors. On their own they would be a 5 star purchase. They are indistinguishable from regular locks that we bought from local hardware stores. I gave them 4 for one reason: you have to push the handle down very far, about 90 degrees, before the latch unlocks. This makes it almost…

Pros
  • Easy to install with a Phillips head screwdriver
