Buyer Warning! on tires and wheels

I had these sensors installed at a dealership and none worked. I ended up buying a new one from a local dealer. The only good thing about this order is the return process.

  • An absolute legend

Schrader make a great TPMS sensor for the 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have purchased 5 replacement TPMS sensors for my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee and they work as they should. It took about 20 minutes for the system to recognize the sensors as I was driving down the freeway and the lights went out and now everything on my dash is normal.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • So far so good

Good product when they work

Have used them before and they are still the best and small enough to fit without having to remove the tire. Simply pry the tire bead off the rim, press on the tire to access the old valve stem, remove and insert the new one. It can be a little frustrating the first time or two, but once you get the hang of it, they're easy to install when the old ones run out of batteries.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Hard to say

Does not work best in accessories and parts

This item was fitted by a local tire dealer. I drove hundreds of miles but the sensor light wouldn't go out. The tire shop says it's dead. Worst of all we didn't save the old one so we can't send it back as the cost keeps going up. I hate these things, even though they can save gas and such anywhere in the world. It would be nice if they could just be knocked out and taken care of, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons

Great sensor and price

This is a nice improvement over the OEM sensor as the valve stem is covered in rubber meant to withstand the elements, especially winter salt in the Northeast. However, I want the stem to be flexible to resist the tearing that caused all of my previous sensors to die. It's still a rigid valve stem. 8/2/2014: The OEM valve stem broke and I installed this sensor. Luckily I had it in my glove box. It took a good 30 minutes of driving before the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country picked up the signalโ€ฆ

Worked on my 2008 Town & Country

Last weekend I went to inflate my tires and on the fourth tire the valve broke and my tire landed on the ground. This is the second time this car has happened. I tried to take the tire to the local service station but they couldn't fix it for several days. My neighbor works with cars and found this outlet for me at Revain. He suggested I order it and he will help me install it. Given that it's about 1/3 the cost of an in-store replacement, I went with it. They swapped it out today with noโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Much better than the old Chrysler OE.

Purchased to replace OE (Siemens) TPMS sensors fitted to a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country after a rod broke off and the tire lost all air. The OE shafts look like they are cheap cast iron. Schrader is a functionally equivalent replacement. The van's TPMS warning system recognizes new sensors within 10 minutes without a special learning process. Simply place the sensor on the rim and off you go. Also, the Schrader has a rubber coated shaft with metal underneath and looks like it's strong, won'tโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Exchange available

Excellent value for money and automatically programmed.

I purchased these four Schrader EZ gauges to replace the OEM gauges on my 2010 Dodge Journey that had a corroded aluminum stem and broken nuts. I contacted Schrader first to make sure the sensors would work for my car. These sensors cost about half to a third of the retail price. They were easily installed by the automotive department of a local chain store for less than $10 each. They are automatically programmed into my machine. Just make sure the tires are properly inflated to manufacturerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Upgrades available
