Description of ๐Ÿšฒ Schwalbe Marathon Plus RLX 26x1.35 Bicycle Tire: Durable Black Wire Beaded Design

Item Shape: Wire Beaded, Outstanding performance. Extended durability. The SmartGuard layer made from a flexible, special rubber offers particular resistance to shards of glass and flints. The SmartGuard belt does not increase rolling resistance. The Marathon Plus rolls as easily as a tire without protection.

It was the perfect tandem tireโ€”right size and almost .

It was the perfect tandem tire - right size and almost puncture proof - except I couldn't fit it onto the rim - probably the most difficult tire to mount - it took me 3 hours to fit a tyre, and the rear tire never touched the rim. Sent back the next day. There was no way to change it on the go.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Can't remember

Flat free tires (almost)

Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires are the only ones I buy now. Have used them on three different bikes for many years. I drive years and thousands of miles without flats, especially when they are new. A flat tire usually starts after 3-4 years as the tires wear out. Then it's time to buy another set. They are heavier and slower than (thinner) race tires but worth it for me. I'm not a racer.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Legacy model

best tires! for cycling

I've been using these tires back and forth in San Francisco for over six years now. I ended up replacing the rear tire only because the treads in the middle of the tire were worn out. The only flat I ever got was driving over a strut in a building. In addition, with SCHWALBE Marathon Plus tires I never have a flat tire and my front tire still works after almost seven years of daily use. The best $50 you can spend.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Frequency

No more apartments! - Sport

I was driving the most difficult stretch of "paved" road ever in the Southern Tier of Imperial County, California and had to take the BLM road for 2.5 miles because of an incorrect "Bicycles" sign Desert deviate from track not allowed" on I8. In places I pushed the bike over chasms in cracked bitumen for fear of breaking a wheel or being broken. Although these tires are incredibly stiff, they lasted 10 days passed the toughest breakdown test imaginable crossing California and New Mexico.

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Everything you want in a Schwalbe tire

I ride a short wheelbase horizontal bike. I had a Schwalbe Marathon 20 x 1.35 front tire and I love it! The position of the wheel makes it very prone to punctures. Ever since I switched to this brand, I've been spoiled. No apartments! (still, but a year has passed) I ride every day, all year round, rain, snow or sun. These tires work great in the rain. They are designed for high pressure so they have low rolling resistance which I prefer. I added this as a rear tire and stopped worrying tooโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • No manual

Get this and no more flats

I've been using Schwalbe tires for a while. I have the MP set on my two wheeler recumbent (700c) and on my rear 26 inch recumbent. I've ridden a 700c for over a year without a flat tire and was only defeated by a very large wood screw on the road. However, the tire deflected the bolt so I didn't mess up the rim. You don't need liners, heavy cameras, nasty gooey gel or anything but those bad boys. I liked them MUCH better than the Specialized Armadillo (still a good tire). But these are theโ€ฆ

So far so good, though.

I bought these tires for use on my Rans Stratus XP on gravel roads and for trips like the "Katy Trail". I suspect a few puncture issues over the life of the tires and so far this has been the case. Which is good too, because it took me a hell of a long time to put them on wheels. I'm a pretty big guy, but these tires have turned me into a shaking gum bean. When I finally got my hands on one of these, I was greeted with a not-so-satisfying "Pssst" as I attempted to air them out. Of course Iโ€ฆ
