Strider did a better job. Layout of a children's power strider.

I bought this for my 23 month old daughter after seeing my 18 month old nephews success with the Strider brand. After comparing Strider and Schwinn, Strider did a better job. The Strider layout forces the child to sit up and raise their legs in a balancing act. It does the job best. The Schwinns layout is harder to come by. My daughter wanted to be standing and walking with her bike all the time instead of properly sitting and balancing. We both took toddlers aged just over 2 to ride bikes andโ€ฆ

Schwinn Bike wins by far!

We love the Schwinn balance bike we bought for my 2.5 year old son! Especially when compared to his friend's Strider bike, the Schwinn wins by a wide margin (in our opinion). Here's why: 1. A Schwinn bike is much stronger because it's heavier, but not so heavy that my 3-year-old son couldn't easily lift it. Rubber tires are great because we live in the country and our roads aren't exactly flat so they ride much better than foam tires. The bearings and frame have quality components and are wellโ€ฆ

Great balance bike for my 3 year old

Bought this for my 3 year old who is quite tall for his age. He's about 44 inches tall so he's probably about the height of a 4 year old. He loves this bike because it looks like a "big kid" BMX bike and I love it for the quality and easy setup right out of the box. A couple of wrenches to attach the wheels and it's up and running in less than 5 minutes. My only wish is for the seatpost to be a few inches longer so I can adjust it higher as it grows. I'll be able to buy a longer post when theโ€ฆ

Easy to assemble - 15 minutes max - but you'll need recommended tools such as tools. B. a wrench of the right size. Make sure the seat height is adjusted for your child. When a child is in the saddle, the heels should not touch the ground and the front toes of their boots should touch the ground slightly, as if standing on tiptoe. There are platforms on either side for little feet to rest on during the ride. My child loved it and soon learned to stand on it too. That's a great runner. Niceโ€ฆ

After riding a balance bike, my 2y7mo rides a regular pedal bike. It works!

My children (2 and 4) have not ridden this bike. My 4 year old used it for 3 weeks then switched to a regular bike and mastered it in 3 days. Nobody could believe a four-year-old on a regular bike with no training wheels. Thanks to the runner. My 2.5 is now flying on a balance bike but not ready to pedal on a regular bike yet. Many neighbors and many friends bought balance bikes after seeing our kids. The stranger stopped and asked about it. I would choose the Schewnn brand over other brandsโ€ฆ

I love the kickstand but mine had a leaking rear wheel

This pink 12" Schwinn balance bike is cute - with a capital M! Easy to assemble, takes less than 10 minutes with a couple of wrenches and no need to look at the instructions. The rear tire leaked the first day after 20 minutes of very light riding indoors on the hardwood floor, but it only costs about $10 to fix at a local shop. I don't know if leaks are common or if I just pulled a short straw, but then again it costs about $10 to fix and should take less than 5 minutes if the store isn't tooโ€ฆ
