🌡️ VEE GEE Scientific Digital Thermometer 83110 - Ultra High Accuracy (1 Pack) Review

I use this for my aquarium. After trying several digital thermometers sold specifically for aquariums, I have found the VEE GEE to be accurate and fast.

The reason the overall rating is not 5 is because the items arrive with dead batteries after they have been checked and backordered for a replacement. I decided to put in a brand new battery and it started to fail. works, it's a very accurate thermometer, but it doesn't work that well with a dead battery.

I've been through 3 of these in the last month. The first and second turned on less than 10 times before stopping working. I even bought a new battery for the first one, thinking I screwed it up and left it on. No, it didn't start with a new battery. The third didn't even turn on out of the box.

I bought this thermometer for my saltwater aquarium because my digital thermometer read incorrectly. Just dip it in the water and in a few seconds I have an accurate reading. Brilliant! I also used it to rescue a duckling. Reading in the air takes a little longer, but works well. Highly recommended!

I don't know how it came in this condition. A replacement is on the way, so we'll see if the stars stay the same or rise. Received a replacement today in the same condition. It does not begin. This time I set up a refund but my wife found a battery we had in another device, unplugged it and that battery turned on just like the original battery I ordered. Why these devices feed with a dead battery. Since the description says a battery, I think VEE GEE Scientific owes me a new battery.

Accurate to within 0.1°C thermometers typically cost hundreds of dollars. I was quite skeptical that this device could reach the claimed 0.5°C, but I recently compared it to a high-end thermometer calibrated to 0.1°C and it consistently showed the same temperature as the fancy device. That's pretty amazing for a thermometer that costs less than $25. People deducting stars because of price or build quality don't know what they're talking about. This is an amazing thermometer for what it's worth.

Excellent value for a potentially vulnerable product. If you don't want a 200-euro laboratory thermometer at the bottom of a tank that sometimes has to do nasty things, you get a great device for everyday use that provides reliable information. Far superior to known food inspectors. I also tried this cheap type of battery panel and out of a dozen one was DOA the rest read within a degree of each other but that number was about 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
