Excellent value for a potentially vulnerable product. If you don't want a 200-euro laboratory thermometer at the bottom of a tank that sometimes has to do nasty things, you get a great device for everyday use that provides reliable information. Far superior to known food inspectors. I also tried this cheap type of battery panel and out of a dozen one was DOA the rest read within a degree of each other but that number was about 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit. A month later they had an abortion and were no longer in agreement. A false reading of 4-6 degrees Fahrenheit is unacceptable for my work. This thermometer is a "room standard" and is compatible with high-end panel controllers (100 ohm resistance) down to 0.8°F or less. Even good material usually deviates by 2 or 3 tenths. It is reproducible and reliable. I took off 1 star for "easy to read" for the auto shut off and small display, both of which are a user preference. If double-tapping fixed it, it would be almost perfect for my needs (as it is now). I'll be ordering a few more soon. If I could just leave them in the tanks and just look out the window to check the temp I'd order a bunch, one for each tank (7+), but that's a thing for a specific use. Conclusion: highly recommended!
