Bad fit, wrong size.

Very disappointed. I had a Metra single din kit (I think that's how you spell it) and it fit perfectly in the car and the radio fit perfectly too. I bought this because I was upgrading to a dual din, but that plastic adapter is terrible. The hole is too small for the main unit to fit through. I had to carefully cut and sand the inside edges and even my stereo barely fit. Although the hole is small, the outer part is too large, so it is difficult to pick up the plastic on the car, and the…

Just too big

This insert didn't quite fit my dashboard. I had to sand one of the edges near the corner to match it. During trial and error installation, one of the latches broke off. This product is too fragile. If you're careful and finicky with your setup, you should be fine. Just be prepared to go through a lot of trial and error to get this right on your dashboard. At least it was cheap! You can see in the photo the bottom right corner still doesn't quite match, and with the locking tab broken off, it's

Right shape, wrong size.

It fits the odd contour that this part requires, but it's about 3% larger than it should be. When I try to push one side down, the opposite side jumps up. It just doesn't snap into place like it should. It also kept my particular head unit from sitting flush with the front instead of sitting at the back of the insert. I had to modify it (like removing a bunch of plastic) to make the stereo almost flush. If you look really closely now you can see the jagged edge. I then have to sand the flat…

Requires modification for Civics

Despite the confusing reviews from people saying it works and doesn't work, I decided to give it a try. Do not do that. The reason some people say it won't fit in their stereo is that on some models it fits VERY tight (there's no official standard that all manufacturers use for double dins). Mine was one of those and I thought I'd have to sand it down but after being patient I framed it. The problem is that this made the frame in the dashboard very narrow. I assembled everything even though I…

Stable but not the right size.

Although the dashboard came in plastic bubble wrap, the dashboard frame arrived in one piece and appears to be very strong plastic. The frame fits the dash hole, which is good, but the frame hole is too small to fit around a standard sized two-din device. Whether you try to push it in from the front or the back. Of course you can modify it to make it work by straightening the rounded corners and cropping the sides a bit, but you don't have to. Dashboard kits are designed for simple plug and…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not the best

The main problem is that the double din radio is too big to fit in this frame. The standard double DIN is 180 mm x 100 mm. This adapter has a hole size of 174mm x 98mm. It's too small for the radio. So I had to use my vibrating saw to cut off the left and right sides as well as trim the top and bottom corners. I don't understand why they can't get it right and provide the correct hole size for my HIZPO GPS/Radio, but I don't think there's another game in town so you just have to change it to…
