Almost as fast! I was assembling my new sonar for my canoe and found I needed this part to complete the job. I read reviews of all types of bindings and accessories for canoe and kayak fishing and decided on the Scottie brand. There are just so many options and this is perfect for my Garmin Striker Vivid! would definitely recommend you products!

Purchased for use with Scotty's extended gear head. Not a cheap overall cost, but it increases visibility from my boat's rail to make it easier to see things when I'm actively fishing. Seems very solid. Remember that you will need to purchase nuts and bolts to attach the fish finder and anything else you wish to attach. I also recommend using a liberal amount of blue Loctite to prevent things from loosening during insertion.

While this is clearly a versatile product I wasn't able to make 4 mounting holes for my old sonar. This affects my OCD a bit as I had to mount it at a bit of an angle to even get 2 screws in. I think it would be nice to have a solid board that would allow the buyer to drill their own holes. This is unlikely as I don't think the demand for something like this will be that high. I could always pump a whole piece out of the press and get the same result.

I'll start with the good. The holes fit my Lowrance Hook 5. They are only slightly larger than the holes in my fish finder, which is fine as it is secure once all 4 screws are tightened (you need to buy the screws separately). Well why do I hate that. Firstly the kit did not include the washer needed to assemble the bracket. It should have come with it, so I think it was just a production packaging issue. To summarize Scotty's universal mount: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We finally managed to attach our fish finder to our kayaks and the first snag was that this universal fish finder mount is not included. So we had to drill new holes in it to get the stainless steel screws we had to work. The second mistake was the second bracket that we opened without a washer.
