Cheap fix and works great!

Looks like an OEM screen replacement to me. It comes with more tools than you need to get the job done, but they're pretty flimsy. I broke the plastic tool used to remove the old screen but I was still able to use it. Others complained about the lack of glue, but mine got to the screen with it. Maybe they didn't remove the protective plastic from the bottom, I don't know, but there is glue on the screen. There are no instructions but there is a DIY video on YouTube. I used a hair dryer to…

It works out. - Digitizer

Managed to fix the cracked screen. It's not an easy process and probably the reason most repair shops won't fix the Tab A. Removing the factory screen is a little tricky but doable if you take your time. I scratched both sides with a knife and broke the back panel. After installing the new screen, it did not stand still and was noticeably raised. The solution is probably to get some very thin double sided tape - which I didn't have and didn't want to order. I used a very thin layer of super…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose

works great and it fixed my very cracked screen

This product fixed my very cracked screen. My Galaxy Tab A 8 landed face down on concrete from over 3 feet. Removing the old screen takes time. A word of caution - if your screen is badly cracked it would be a good idea to seal it with duct tape. If you pry it, a lot of small fragments and fragments of old glass will be scattered. It's also a good idea to wear protective glasses. The most difficult thing is to remove (get to work) the old screen and heat the edges. Be careful when disconnecting

It worked great, finally one that works! EDITED with downgrade

Finally! After several screen adjustments I finally found one that works! I'm using the new screen right now. It works great, no missed touches, what a relief. The presence of glue on the new screen is a game changer, it is applied correctly, evenly and thoroughly. If you've messed up spools of tape, you know it's a gooey mess that's hard to straighten out, doesn't bubble, and starting over is a nightmare. The stuff is awful to get out and needs to keep going evenly. And at $15, this is by far…

This isn't rocket science.

Touch screens and tablets Batteries are easy to replace. It was my third battery and my first touch screen. The first step is to get in. Take the tablet and find the micro memory card. Gently press the card to pop it out, and then remove it from the tablet. Then take a small flathead screwdriver, insert the screwdriver blade about 1/8 inch into the memory card slot, turn the screwdriver clockwise until the edges separate the top from the bottom, move the screwdriver blade across the table…

  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Low repairability
