Spool needs improvement

My first and only time using this spool was shallow water diving. This is a powerful reel, but its functionality leaves a lot to be desired. A play effect is created in the fishing line and the line is wound on the inside of the reel (between the spool and the frame). This blocks the string so you can't dive deeper. This happened three times within 20 minutes. , forcing me to end the dive early. Adding a guide to limit lateral movement of the string would do wonders for this reel.

Pros
  • 4" diameter
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Began to rust immediately in salt water.

There are a total of 2 dives with this dive, I didn't have my camera with me but about 10 minutes into the first dive it would look like this. Check out the shine on the plastic handle which is already worn down from significant wear after one dive when I actually used the product. The rust is already on the rivet. Now look at the metal strut, you'd think I'd had it in the tropics for years, no, one day, 2 dives, 2 hours and 20 minutes. This is what it looks like. I have the actual shippingโ€ฆ

Unique use, worked well while rope held

I have a greyhound puppy and don't have a fence in my yard so I taught him to 100-200ft ropes (500lb paracord from Home Depot). After months of it wrapping itself around my legs causing me severe burns and rope scars, and spending 15-20 minutes several times a day untangling it to get started, I started looking for a spool to use. I have tried cheap large plastic extension reels and two types of diving reels. It is the heaviest, best finished and best performing. My plan was to remove theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Polymer construction 290ft (white line)
Cons
