Works well, needs more guidance

Works well, besides the dosage information, further guidance could be used to understand the product. I had to do a lot of research on this before I felt comfortable using it in an installed tank and got a lot of advice from customer reviews.

There was high C&F that's magical

I put my new tank in the moving grounds and switched from city water to well water. Couldn't control my kh and ph levels being too high. This solved the problem, just follow the instructions, do not exceed the dose. Start small and gradually increase the dosage by purchasing water test strips several times a day. great product The fish is happy, I am happy :)

Filtered water is best. hands down

I've learned the hard way to stop chasing ph if I want my fish to live. There were 18 guppies, now there are 3. There were 6 neon tetras. all have gone. Most of my 41 fish survived but lost 15 guppies and 6 neon tetras. I used acidic buffer and alkaline buffer and followed the directions. Just do not. I have a 60 liter tank. Now I just used the water from the filter and I haven't had any dead fish since.

Excellent phosphate-free acid buffer

I will keep it simple for non-experts. If you have an acid/base problem and need to acidify your aquarium but are concerned about using phosphate buffer with a "planted aquarium or very hard water where phosphate buffers can cause algae or turbidity problems," use an acidic buffer. - phosphate-free buffer. Seachem makes great products and when used properly this product does exactly what you want it to. I was very happy with the effectiveness of the product and my fish and plants tolerated it…

Causes a large algal bloom.

I bought this product based on positive customer reviews because I have a low tech aquarium with a very high PH. I lowered the PH from 8+ to 7 and within 2 weeks there was a massive algal bloom turning the aquarium into swamp water. Not sure what I did wrong, but I was hoping since it's a non-phosphate buffer, algal blooms wouldn't be a problem. I changed 90% of the water and the water is still cloudy. I really like Seachem products and they lower the PH, the side effects don't make it worth it

Hard water problems? You need that.

My tap water is very hard. Before hearing about this stuff I tried PH with no success. Anyway, I discovered that and the PH controller. These products work amazing! For a couple of weeks I added Acid Buffer to my tanks every day and checked the PH every other day. I saw the PH drop gradually and then maintained it with a PH regulator with water changes. It not only lowers the PH but also changes the hardness and releases CO2 which is great for plants. I am very impressed with the Seachem…

Ideal for hard water.

I've tried almost everything from peat pellets and driftwood to the appropriate API chemicals to lower the pH of my local tap water (dGH: 15, dKH: 6, pH: 7.8). The pH LOWER from the API was good but not enough, the dosage was advertised as two drops per gallon but it wasn't enough. I had to quadruple the dose and it only went from 7.8 to about 7.1 only to go back to 7.8 the next day. The acid buffer keeps the water acidic and I only had to double the dose for the first week. The water in my…
