Ideal. wash it Install it correctly.

I bought a bag. It filled my 2x3 gallon tanks perfectly. nothing left I only washed it 2 times in a bucket. After that I stopped because I didn't want fine sand particles to fly out = less sand. This is the first time I'm adding sand to my tanks, so don't get mad at me. I then placed it in my aquarium (half filled with water at the time, with a food bag on top) and then gently ran my hands to remove bubbles and help with dust. Then I filtered this water. Then I placed a plastic/grocery bag on…

Florite has been around for decades

What I like about Florite is that it's made from small pieces of baked red clay. It is an excellent chemically inert substrate for plants of all types and sizes. Whether your plants are aquatic, hydroponic, or above ground, you'll find they perform well. Also for cacti. Florite comes in several varieties and colors. If you have smaller, more delicate young plants, consider using sand. For everything else, use the original larger Florite. * note. Before using flower sacks in your projects, pour…

  • Great for a small home

I've been a fan of Seachem products

I've heard a lot of reviews about this product being dusty and difficult to clean but I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself. The sand in the water was more anthracite than black. Half of the sand was very fine. So good that it washed away with water when I tried to rinse it out despite being so careful. When I was done, there was barely half the package left. The pictures show the bathroom was a mess. Small particles washed with water could not be collected. Very dusty. No matter how…

Lots of work, rinse very well and then see what it's worth!

Asked about removing the dusty presence in this one. Got many helpful replies. What I did may seem unconventional and considered environmentally unsafe for my aquarium babies, but they are happy and healthy so I believe it worked like magic and could save you time. Water is filtered through, much is lost this way, but is then added to the tank. It didn't work, it was like fog and I got scared. So I used the hose that came out the doors, stuck it in the side of the tank, let it fill about 3…

  • Easy setup

RINSE RINSE RINSE before use.

I wish there were more detailed instructions on how to get started with this product. It is sand and very fine dusty sand. I flushed for a good 30 minutes as directed and added to my JBJ 3G Picotope. After 24 hours I still couldn't see through the water and there was about 1-2 cm of brown dust on the black sand. Then I took out some water and changed it, but to no avail. I found another seller here with 42 reviews to see what others have done. I started from scratch and followed the advice of…
