Don't waste your money

The first time I tried to drain the water in the bowl, the seal on the drain broke. stranded me in the middle of the river because I couldn't keep the prime number.

Pros
  • Reusable clear bowl with drain.
Cons
  • I don't remember

This thing could kill.

The clear bowl at the bottom of the filter fell onto the garage floor during storage. The transparent part shrank and was too small to screw on the filter. This is dangerous and could burn your boat and kill you.

Pros
  • Quality water separator keeps engine clean fuel
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Set your boat on fire

Buy this if you plan to set your boat on fire. After 1 month the seal on the drain broke. Then gasoline flows into the hold and waits for a spark. The design of this sink is so miserable. I can't find a suitable seal anywhere, so it's leaking. Actually, no stock is needed. If there was water or dirt in the bowl, I could remove the bowl and dump it out. But this expiry mechanism is ridiculous. In addition, the shell is completely cracked. Isn't that UV protection? Sunlight makes it crack?

Worn drain valve seal

Internal drain valve seal worn after 3 months of use. I've only opened/closed the valve twice since installing it, so I know it's not from overuse. I tried pumping fuel into my outboard with the fuel pump plunger and found that the pumping didn't get "heavier" so I checked the water separator on the transom and of course the valve on the underside of the motor. The filter drained fuel every time I primed the bulb. I'm going ahead with a closed filter design to avoid further deterioration of the

Fuel leak NO RISK

Immediately after one day in the boat the next day on the trailer I smelled fuel . He opened the bilge hatch and of course licked the transparent liner of the bowl. I've read previous reviews that this problem is caused by overtightening the release valve. I was careful not to overtighten after the check valve closed. I filled the filter with fuel, there is no leakage from this valve. I then screwed the filter onto the boat's fuel system and still no leaks. Fuel/water leaked the next day. Soโ€ฆ
