Small Drive - Computers and Accessories

I have a Seagate 1T drive like this 2T drive that has served me well but this drive and the 4 others before it wouldn't reformat on macOS and didn't work properly, if at all, from time to time. I've worked with Seagate Support using their step-by-step reformat guide, which I always use with no success. Once you plug in a drive, it may or may not show up in Utilities. If it shows up, you can drag the file onto it and move it to the Trash, but you might not be able to delete the file at all, and…

Seagate Lightweight Hard Drive - Huge Disappointment

I connected the drive to my computer and followed the instructions to make sure everything was done correctly. Within 30 minutes I received an error message saying the hard drive was "corrupt" and needed to be scanned. I did what was suggested. Again the error message. Return to the crate. Start a chat with Seagate. Bottom line - this item failed within 30 minutes of starting to use it. Contacting Seagate was a mistake as it took an hour chatting to find a replacement. I received a replacement…

very slow for data storage

I bought 4 of these backup drives. One drive failed almost immediately. After copying about 4GB of data to the drive, the drive failed with error code 0x800701E3, which is a "fatal device hardware error". Trying different cables did not solve the problem. The other drive was unbearably slow. When copying data, not only was the writing speed extremely slow, the process stopped from time to time and had to be restarted manually. The remaining two drives are working fine so far, although the data…

NOT good for external hard drives

I've had a Seagate external hard drive ("Free Agent") for four years. Very reliable which is why I wanted to upgrade to this larger capacity. This device was a nightmare to set up. The manual for the device (see photo) shows what should appear on the main screen when a hard drive is connected. No! Nothing. I found the drive in Windows 10 but when I opened it there was a series of steps with apps like Toolkit, Mylio Photos, Adobe Creative Cloud Photography, I skipped those and registered the…

Significantly more storage space on my Xbox One!

So my buddy is back on the Xbox after not playing for a while. Before it came back on, I only had the original 500GB Xbox One. Realistically 500GB is only 3-4 games these days, maybe because you know games are 100GB each these days. Anyway, this is a very simple setup and has been working great for about 2 weeks now. The hard drive itself is very "thin" overall and much more portable than I expected. It's legally 2/3 the size of my iPhone 7+. Just a small issue with the actual memory size. My…
