The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

I bought it on 03/23/23 - for 8990R. on Ya. Market. PS: who cares or who does not understand, the disk is for Sata3 (apparently there it can reveal its full speed potential), but I connected it to Sata 2. Attached to the reviews is a comparison table of the cheapest 6TB drives on the market at the moment. Yes, I "slightly" overpaid, but the time between failures became the basis for the choice. If it cost 12 thousand as it is now, I would have already taken the Seagate ST8000NM017B - 8 TB.…

Pros
  • 1. There are absolutely no sounds that were written about in the reviews for this hard drive, no whistles, no crunches, nothing. 2. 7200 RPM (logically it should work faster than the same file-washing disks on 5400) 3. The service life of similar models is 2,000,000 hours (of course, it will not work for you for 180 years, but it seems to be reliable, watch the video on YouTube about the time to failure).

Reliable and spacious internal storage

The Seagate ST6000NM0115 is a reliable and spacious internal component for computers .With its large capacity and fast data transfer speeds it allows for smooth and efficient performance. The 256MB cache also enhances overall system speed and responsiveness. However, due to its high storage capacity, it may be more suitable for professional users or those with demanding storage needs..

Pros
  • Excellent storage capacity of 6TB
Cons
  • Noisy during operation

Only disadvantages and no pluses, do not buy.

Customers will typically receive SN02 firmware CDs. The discs "whistle" on her because of her advanced age. A fresh firmware update, version SN04, fixes the issue. Here is a comprehensive guide on how to update the firmware (it's not easy, so read the instructions first): -seagate-st6000nm0115/

Pros
  • Words per minute: fair
Cons
  • The disks are both extremely loud (they crunch loudly and whistle nastily; the sound travels through even the most well-insulated containers) and heated. The first one has been mostly dealt with.

The item is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

Out of the box, the disc emitted a thin whistling squeak that passed through the walls and was clearly recognizable even in the next room at a quiet time of the day. The drive was purchased with firmware SN02. Began to dig about managing the acoustics of the disk and came across a more recent firmware on the site SG - SN04. It was stitched and - lo and behold - the whistle disappeared. Command line to stop smoking dock: SeaChest_Firmware_240_1150_32 -d PD1 -downloadFW…

Pros
  • Nimble, inexpensive
Cons
  • Whistle to the firmware

It is impossible to use, a bad product.

I purchased it, transported it, set it up, switched on the computer, and now we're going to copy everything onto it. "enjoyed" the cracking and squeaking while waiting for the copying to finish. It's a good thing I read the comments since then I knew what I was getting myself into. I updated it to the most recent version of SN05 using a flashing tool. What has changed is that there is now a 25% reduction in the amount of crackling that occurs when reading and writing random 4k blocks. Those…

Pros
  • + Read/write speed + Price + A warranty good for five years
Cons
  • - A deafening cracking - The copying process causes a very tiny vibration. (please see the comments for further information).

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

After running in recording mode through Victoria and afterwards reformatting, I saw no blockage issues. Took another thorough reading assessment in HD Tune. In a nutshell, initial write/read speeds of 220-230 mb/s gradually decrease to final speeds of 105-110 mb/s. The CDs shipped with SN04 firmware already installed, as shown on the label. After reading the instructions on the fedoseyev website (just search for "ST6000NM0115 firmware ate"), I was able to successfully ate it to SN05. While…

Pros
  • Discs of a high standard. Two of these came directly into my hands. Neither has any bed blocks or remaps, and both have logged over 18,000 flight hours. The normal levels of noise and warmth were present.
Cons
  • No flaws stood out to me.

The right product for me, there were no problems.

Standard good disk. I'm attaching speed measurements. Apparently, all disks of this size and rotational speed, regardless of the manufacturer, have a loud sound of operation. It has two manifestations: 1) An unpleasant squeak. This is solved by ating the old SN02 firmware to the newer, currently current SN05. The ate process is quite simple, does not require special skills and is described on the Internet. 2) A sharp sound when accessing the disk. In a silent case, you can hear well. If the…

Pros
  • The speed corresponds to the one declared by the manufacturer
Cons
  • The drive is loud, but that seems to be the case with all drives of this size and speed. When you buy it comes with outdated firmware SN02.
