Disappointing Firewire Adapter for Computers

Using this product, our team found that it caused numerous issues with our computers, including crashing and freezing. The adapter was also difficult to install and did not improve our connection speed. The only pro was that it was relatively affordable. But overall, we would not recommend this adapter for anyone looking to upgrade their computer's internal components.

Pros
  • Provides high-speed connectivity with Firewire devices
Cons
  • Requires a Firewire port on the computer, which may limit compatibility

Avoid -- poorly done

Doesn't work properly. Often resets the FireWire device, usually during a file transfer. Sometimes it only disconnects the FireWire device for a moment (but long enough to abort the transfer, of course), other times the device disconnects abruptly and you just can't reconnect it. You hear your computer happily singing these little tunes as a device is added, then removed, then added, then removed, and then... you get the picture. It hurts to put the card in the PC when you do it, you at least…

Pros
  • 400/200/100 Mbps data rate support
Cons
  • Security
