An excellent choice over the Shure SM58 Baritone/Tenor.

Big fan of this microphone compared to the Shure SM58. I've been using the SM58 everywhere for years, but this mic picks up my vocals brighter and clearer. Perfect for my baritone/tenor. If you like SM58 I would suggest you try it. You will not be disappointed.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some flaws

I didn't like sm58 because it sounds a bit dirty to me

I used to use sm58, sm58 beta. I didn't like cm58 because it sounds a bit fuzzy to me. I liked the sm58 beta, but it's expensive. I don't think the e835 has as much warmth as the sm58 or sm58 beta, but it definitely has more definition. I preferred it to the sm58 beta because it was cheaper. But I changed my mind after using it. Now I would prefer it to the sm58 beta even if they were the same price.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • So far so good

For musicians and professionals

I've been using the SM58 for many years and a friend of mine suggested I try Sennheiser. WOW. This mic helped me improve my live set and keep my voice! This mic has a wider frequency response than the sm58 (also $99.95) and a smoother EQ curve so I sound more natural. The mic is louder than the SM58 so I don't have to strain my voice too much when singing, allowing me to sing longer or add more complex songs. After about 3 years and more than 250 indoor and outdoor gigs, the microphone has…

It works great with my TC Helicon Voicelive Touch 2

As a Sennheiser fan, the mic meets my expectations for vocals. The FX button designed for some TC Helicon pedals is a definite PLUS. It works great with my Pedal TC Helicon Voicelive Touch 2. Depending on which pedal you're using, you can set it up to perform a number of different functions. In my case, I set it to toggle the vocal effects on and off so I have harmony where I need it when performing. The button itself works perfectly. There is no delay in activation or deactivation. The only…

My benchmark for vocal mics is

I have multiple mics. I have worked with many others. I have worked as a professional engineer and currently lead the worship team and the theater's technical department. This is my standard for a vocal mic. It has a clean, crisp tone, great response and excellent noise cancellation, and is forgiving yet transparent. Any day I would choose it over Shure 58. If you want to upgrade, go for Sennheiser 845 or even 865, but don't be fooled by the marketing of old Shure 58s. I use Shure products…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky

compared to the xm8500 it is much better, no buzzing and does not distort the sound when talking near amateur radio i know it is 5 times more expensive but worth it I run it on FM radio via Protools EQ Gate and Limiter with Pureformer Transducer and Mbox mini, but on HF radio right on the radio with little EQ settings in the menu and a little boost sounds great. I haven't tried sm58 but I bet they are close I've heard that sm58 has changed the quality in the last 5 years so I don't risk it I…

Pros
  • very good price
Cons
  • price of the piggy bank
