Almost as good - Circlip Pliers

I ordered these while trying to find the right 6 gauge hog ring pliers. Works well on 9 gauge and below, not at all on 6 gauge but I wasn't too surprised. The correct pair of pliers is around $80 online and is indistinguishable from this one in the photos. Carol Baskin, CEO of Big Cat Rescue

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

They are incredibly useful for a variety of purposes

I use them for everything but mostly around the chicken coop and in the garden. They are incredibly useful for a variety of uses. I wish I knew about them sooner! The pliers are well made and easy to use. They fit in all but the smallest of spaces and are easy to squeeze.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • a little torn

Cheap, serves its purpose.

Purchased for buttonholes with stretch fabric. Works quite well but doesn't fully cover the smallest pig rings. I've found that 3/8" rings work best for the thin bungee material I use, and while it closes the rings tight enough for hogs, I usually have to finish the job and use regular pliers to snap them whole shut down. I think almost any ring for larger pigs will otherwise work fine.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No

Simplified hand tool

Essential when working around the fence around the house or on the farm. I've used them to make my own extra large tomato cages for the garden. Just concrete wire and voila, custom four foot cages. Get the pig tool and rings and you're on your way. Use gloves and goggles as the guard will curl up and cut you if you're not careful.

Pros
  • Obsolete part number: RR-HM
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Everyone should have round nose pliers!

I've been looking for this for a long time and all I could find was ridiculously expensive. I came across this while looking for something different and since the price was right I ordered it right away. And I'm glad I did. These pliers and of course the rings make a lot of work easier. I fixed the bird feeder, upholstered some stuff and made some other stuff. We don't keep pigs here in suburban New York, but pig tongs still come in handy!

Pros
  • Available in Chrome
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Not just for the pig nose.

Used to put rings in an old sow's nose to keep her from plowing up the magpie's whole back in the pasture. Pigs love to dig, but they really can ruin anything. Now these tools come in handy for attaching upholstery springs or connecting fine meshes in your garden and for many other purposes. This works fine. An adjustable screw adjusts the degree of occlusion of the rings during use. This option seems more than satisfactory for general use. Hardware stores used to sell them but don't seem to…

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Piggy bank Price
