One of the nuts was snapped off

One star off because one of the nuts for the smaller puller was completely broken (I could move it up and down). Otherwise it did its job well. I used a larger diff bearing puller, it took a while due to constantly having to wait for my air compressor to work, but it held up to my impact wrench and eventually removed the bearing (with some careful application of heat).

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Empty

Suitable for smaller bearings

I used this kit to remove the bearings from the center differential shafts on my Subaru Outback. He easily pulled out the smaller bearings. This was especially useful when there was little space to grab the stock. Note: The larger bearing fitted to the center differential required a large 3-arm puller rented from Advanced Auto. The bearing spacer in this kit doesn't open wide enough for this, although you can modify it with a threaded rod.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Available in white only

Hold on first. best in pullers

Decent economic set that should last as long as you don't overuse it. 5 tons actually lift very quickly with pullers. So if you need to start lifting for real, think about ways to moderate the effort. Try heating if it's safe to do so, or long soaks in rusty/caustic liquids (not to mention standard WD40) and do both with really stuck parts. And most importantly, lubricate the puller threads and sliding parts with high pressure grease - this is the number one reason pullers break and sometimes…

It works! Good for tools and equipment

I had a hell of a time to remove the original steering wheel from a 1956 Massey Harris 50 tractor. I've tried using borrowed 3-leg pullers but couldn't get them to work. I finally bought a Shankly gear puller set and it worked great. Easy setup and usability. I was so happy when the steering wheel fell off. Also, you should know that I used a percussion gun instead of a hand wrench. The shaft puller set includes several long bolts and two different center pieces for different applications. It…

This tool wobbles/tool case damaged/parts missing

First positive point: Great tool, easy to assemble, easy to remove the bearing from the shaft and the price is right. Minus: The shipping box is undamaged; However, one corner of the toolbox has been pushed back. There is no instruction manual and no foam in the tool box even though the tool box was wrapped in plastic. I can only assume Revain quality control was AWOL and the returned item was repackaged or not inspected by Shankly. I found Shankly's website but it's expired. Hmmm. If it wasn't

Excellent value for money and quality! - Tools and Equipment

You can easily pay double for this kit and it will still be profitable! This is an excellent quality to range ratio that you get. Works easily with bearings as well as other mechanical components such as small and medium sized pulleys and gears. It comes with a good range of adapters and extensions which is pretty much all you need to get the job done. The case it comes in is also nice and solid, better than most other tools in this price range. I know many of you may think you get what you pay

GREAT TOOL GREAT CHOICE:

I have a 7 1/4" saw that I purchased from Montgomery Ward many years ago. I have used and abused it for many years. So I opened up the saw and put it down realized the rear axle bearing was destroyed. I had to remove the portion of the old bearing that was left on the armature shaft. I checked several bearing cages including "OTC". After reading the reviews on this tool, I was able to understand the extra cost can't justify. After receiving this tool I checked the threads on each part. They all

So close and so far.

I used this to separate the bearing from the spindle on a small lathe. Since I had a small press, I needed a base plate. I think that while it's reasonable value for its price, it won't prove to be a long-lasting tool. I attach several pictures for the size. This tool uses metric dimensions. The studs and nuts for the larger plate are M12-1.5. The smaller plate uses M10-1.0 bolts and nuts. Minimum. In the product I received they were so loose you could see them tilt as you screwed them onto the
