I started making shellac at a salon about a year ago and loved it - but after a while I wanted to save some money and make my own at home. Well after doing some research I decided to give this device a try. Bought for UV treatment of psoriasis on hands, not nails. When it worked, it worked well although I have nothing to compare to as I don't get my nails done very often. I bought SHANY UV Gel Light because I spent a lot of money on a manicure/pedicure. After doing all the research I could I read the reviews and settled on this one. It was relatively cheap compared to other gel UV lamps and according to other reviews it worked just as well (if not better in some cases). Delivery was fast enough, well packaged. Excellent dryer for the money. I bought this to go with my Gelish base kit. I like the timer function. You can set it to turn off automatically after 2 minutes. I find 4 minutes best for a good gel cure. When I first received the dryer I thought it was broken because it wouldn't turn on. I read a few other reviews on how to put in bulbs and was able to get it working. You have to push the bulbs in really hard for them to fit properly. Then it works great. I would have given this lamp at least 4 stars if the timer worked but I read the reviews when I bought it and realized that a) the price means lower quality and b) others are warned about the idle timer.
