Sharkbite is by far the best for do it yourself plumbing

I've been using Sharkbite for many years now and it has never let me down. The easiest and best DIY installation solutions for my installation. Works on copper, CPVC and PEX. I've used it indoors and outdoors and it tolerates sunlight, heat, and cold well (both my homes are in South Florida and Massachusetts). It's expensive, but consider the cost of a professional plumber and it easily makes up for it. - A happy user of Sharkbite and is in no way sponsored by the company.

A must have for the DIY enthusiast or handyman

A must have for the handyman I've had it on me for years I renovate many kitchens and bathrooms It's reassuring if and when accidents happen a simple and reliable solution. If you have a leak you can simply turn off the water, cut the water line, prep the end, remove any sharp edges with a tool or sandpaper and press down on the fitting. Advice. Keep in mind that even if you turn off the water, there may still be several gallons of water left in the system, so make sure you have a large enough…

Quality Fittings

Works like a charm on my 3/4" PEX hose. I recently replaced my old 50 gallon water heater with a tankless unit and used these Shark Bite fittings to clean the pipe when Exchange to close and they didn't leak a drop.I also used two female Shark Bite connectors when making cuts in the hoses to fit the new water heater and they didn't leak a drop either.Very easy to use and well made. These fittings cost a few bucks more than other quick connect fittings I wasn't sure about, but I'm glad I spent…

Works in an emergency

I hate this intrusive stuff and don't trust it with regular use. Solid copper sweating has proven its worth. I keep a couple of these 1/2" and 3/4" in case something breaks so we don't have to shut off the main source and we can isolate the problem and the rest of the house will still have water by then. as long as the hardware store is open in the morning. I bought two more to use downstream of the valve on the outdoor sink. I needed an open plug to blow out water in the winter, but wanted…

Don't wait until you regret it.

I bought a new industrial house in 2000. It's very big, 2300 square meters, I took care of my grandmother with Alzheimer's for 15 years. As she passed, this part of the house (designed as a duplex), was the main house, and then the mother-in-law's territory. As nobody lived in the area, we never went there. Fast forward to 2020: an under sink leak in the main part of the house repaired with a shark bite. Then, after 2 months, a drain tap under the sink in the kitchen was leaking, repaired. One…

This SharkBite is a really good thing. I am 75 years old and in need.

This SharkBite is really good stuff. I am 75 years old and had to plug a water pipe in my basement. To do this the traditional way, I had to struggle for minutes while sitting or kneeling, partially reclining, during the soldering process. Unimaginable suffering at my age, with almost exhausted abs. This one was just a no-brainer. Cut the tube, deburr, polish and break baby. Cool. We moved our kitchen elsewhere so I did all the plumbing with SharkBite parts. Not cheap but at my age but I don't…

The perfect problem solver.

I learned how to levitate a pipe joint a long time ago. The flaw is that if the tube is wet or tight against the wood, it may not be possible to get an even, smooth solder joint. These Sharkbite tube fittings were a marvel. I have used two at my sister's house so far. The first was a butt joint to replace a cracked outdoor faucet. The faucet and copper fitting were prepared and soldered. Try as I might, I couldn't get a solder joint that wasn't leaking. I wasted a lot of time with this…
