Not bad for a fake Norton

Pack of two washers! Pretty good for the price. They have a finer grit than my Norton picks (which I love) so I will be using them for finishing and sharpening my wood tools rather than sharpening and repairing. They are made from the same aluminum oxide that you see in all the latest reversible two-tone whetstones currently made in China. The molding on these could have been a bit better as there are sharper edges where the halves of the mold came together. However, they wear out quickly…

Pros
  • Suitable for an axe, blade, machete, ax and other tools
Cons
  • Write later

Exactly what you've come to expect from these stones

These are essentially commercially made whetstones. They are very similar to rectangular ones but have the shape of a washer. They work as expected - wet them and work with the blade of an axe. Or use them dry and clean the stone later. I tested one on an overused axe. This is a hatchet that stands near the door and allows you to quickly slice random objects in half. It has dents on the edge where the chopped material decided to fight back and where the ax was dropped, thrown unsuccessfully…

Pros
  • No oil required, simply immerse in water and ready to use
Cons
  • Drill Bit Pack

Biscuit sized quality stones for rough sharpening in the field

I ordered these stones out of curiosity: I have always sharpened axes with a file, and I've never sharpened a machete (intentionally cheaper) low carbon steel, but you can always increase your stroke. Two double-grit, cookie-sized whetstones were wrapped in bubble wrap (no damage) and placed in a cardboard box; there were NO instructions. I do NOT agree with the image on the website: based on texture and sharpening performance, I believe the lighter side of the sharpening stone is a coarser 180

Pros
  • Easy to carry, 8.9 x 6.3 x 2.3 cm
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
