Additional holes need to be drilled in the mounting bracket to match the studs. Unless you attach it to solid wood, the shelf will barely support its own weight! Also take some mounting screws with you. I used the 3" drywall screws I had on hand (pre-drill the holes with something roughly the size of the CLAMP's screw, not tapped!) to meet three studs. I really like the look of this shelving unit. The sizes are nice, the color/gloss is great, but the included fasteners are inexcusably awful and cheap. Do yourself a favor and ditch the hardware package immediately. Just repeating what many others have said. Mounting holes are useless. If you find one stud, there's no way to match another with the 16-inch body standard spacing between center studs, which is over 100 years old. I mean that?
